The view of the Acropolis is wonderful from the hotel. The breakfast buffet is delicious and with great choices and the best part is that it is offered with view of Acropolis. The spa was incredible and very fairly priced for treatments. The staff at hotel and spa are very friendly yet professional. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs during our stay. We highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Athens.

The best thing about this hotel is location. Very close to Syntagma square.
Location for serving breakfast is nice on the top of hotel with a limitation, about half of the space is opened for those who want to stay in fresh air, but one day it was hard rain and all the people crowded in the covered space, a lot standing waiting for others to finish to be able to catch a free table.

The most kind, compassionate and friendly people in one of the most stunning countries in the world. AMAZING food and history to devour, plus gorgeous views, quirky neighborhoods to explore, etc. I came to Greece unsure of my expectations but I would go back in a heartbeat. One of the biggest takeaways (besides how fabulous the food was) was how welcoming the Greeks were every place we went. They never made you feel like an annoying tourist (how they do in other countries...).

As well as the Acropolis & Parthenon and Acropolis Museum, we enjoyed our visits to the Archaeological Museum, Roman excavations under the Acropolis Museum, the beautiful National Park (very close to our apartment in Syntagma Square) and our day in Piraeus with its extremely interesting Navigation Museum. The 4 day Archaeological Tour from the Amelia Hotel - to Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora was very worthwhile.

One of the best places I have stayed for a relaxing holiday.
One of the best places I have stayed for a relaxing holiday. The islands was easy to get to especially by ferries very cheap.
The attractions are all walking distance from each other.
As for the food I enjoyed the Greek salad and seafood.
Next time I will avoid taking taxis or the bus from the airport for the Metro is faster and with there three lines you can go anywhere.

I like history and archeology so there's plenty to see in Athens. We visited the Acropolis with family that came to visit us. (We live part time in Greece and part time in Virginia). We only had one day so the Acropolis was about all we could do. I would liked to have stayed longer so that we could shop in Monesteraki. Getting around Athens is easy. They have a good underground system. they also have Hop-on/Hop-off buses. Avoid taxis as they are expensive and the drivers are rude. We made the mistake of eating at a restaurant without first checking it out on Trip Advisosr. Make sure to check online reviews of restaurants before you make a choice. Also, be prepared to deal with cigarette smoke. Most Greeks smoke and they have no sympathy for non-smokers.

Athens has many interesting museums and historic sites.
Athens has many interesting museums and historic sites. They are fascinating to see if you are interested in those things. If you do like those things, be sure to add a trip to Delphi to your itinerary. There you will find the Temple of Apollo (look it up).
Another important thing about Athens is the ferry system to visit the many islands Greece has. The ferries are fantastic! Download Ferry Hopper to view schedules and buy tickets.
Athens also has many great restaurants. I recommend looking for good restaurants that are not catering to the tourists. The ambiance is not as good, but the food is more authentic and better priced.
After visiting the Acropolis Museum, you will find a street with all restaurants across the street from the Acropolis Metro station. They are all tourist restaurants. I am sure you will get a good meal from any of them. But if you head south to the next block, you will find Opos Palia, an authentic local Greek restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The food is outstanding, and about half the cost.
The transit system is supposed to be great and inexpensive, but we did not use it. Uber is very convenient to use and not expensive either. If you are going to use a taxi, Free Now, is a Greek version of Uber. Download it and set it up. I found that if you stop a taxi on the street, they will want more than Uber or Free Now, sometimes a lot more.
With all that said, most recommendations say to stay in Athens only a few days, then explore other parts of Greece, and I agree with that. It's kind of like New York. Yes, there is lots of great stuff to see and do in Athens, also great places to eat. But the city is dirty, noisy, and scuzzy. There is lots of great stuff elsewhere.
Exceptional accommodation which exceeded our expectations. We both agreed that this was one of the best places we stayed during our visit to Greece. Clean, comfortable, spacious, fantastic view of the acropolis, and the host left very clear and friendly instructions. She was also easy to communicate with. Apartment was also in a great location with Hadrian's Library just next door, with shops and restaurants just downstairs (no issues with noise though). We wished we could stay longer. Definitely our pick for our next visit to Athens!
Our last hotel on our two week trip to mainland Greece. I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Location to Acropolis cannot be beat, friendly staff who provided us with lunch and dinner options. The rooms were small which can be expected for any hotel in a big city but to our surprise both the beds and pillows were super comfortable. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a view of the acropolis was a great way to end our trip. Both the sunsets and sunrises watched from the rooftop were spectacular.
Staff was very nice, i asked for early check in in advance and they cleaned the room earlier so we could get in. Very center location, restaurant and supermarket nearby. Rooftop with Acropolis view is real bonus. It's not a brand new hotel but its clean and comfortable. Breakfast was standard with egg ham cheese and several greece pastry. But no complain with the price and location its worth the money. We rent family room and turned out its 2 rooms with connecting door and 2 bathroom! Great one !
This is our second stay here. First- the bed and pillows are the most comfy anywhere in Greece, (maybe actually ANYWHERE period). We love the boho vibe and eco-conscious nature of the hotel. The laid back common area is light-filled and surrounded by greenery. Breakfast buffet was nice but not the best we’ve had in Greece. The huge honeycomb was a highlight, though!
Easy parking on the street. Nice neighborhood. The staff is always cheerful and helpful.
This is my first hotel in Greece and I have to say that it made my stay in Athens much more pleasant. The hotel is within 10 minutes walk to the biggest attractions in Athens. The rooms are designed in calming colors and decorations, the staff and the service are super good and helpful. If you book in there you definitely need to book their breakfast because they have really good ones with a very wide variety of choices to eat and drink in the morning.
Second post covid stay. One night Only between trips to mountains and the islands. Pleasant surprise when bus from Peloponnese dropped us 100m from the hotel. As a base for touring Greece and Athens the Cosmos is ideal. They even have a cold drinks machine in the lobby stocked with beer. Aircon set at 25 degrees which is a bit warm for me as I like to sleep cold
Acron Athens was a great place for my family to stay. It was within a 10 to 15 minute walk to all of the historic places, and about a 30 minute walk to Lycabettus Hill. The staff met us at check-in and sent us tips for local places during our stay. Staying her made us feel like we were a local resident of Greece, while have the comfort of safe accomodations!
One more stay at Mitsis Athens Airport, as always everything ran smooth, with a warm welcome, well prepared and a clean room. Bed quality good, AC working properly, all amenities as always in order and useful. The breakfast in the morning as in the high quality hotels - perfect for a start of the journey. Plus the best moussaka in Greece, no kidding!
It was wonderful. When we walked in the building, it smelled so good and everything was so clean and updated. The shower was so big and water pressure was strong. The bed was comfortable and the tv was very big. We stayed in two other locations in Greece, but this was the best one. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens, Greece.
The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. They spoke very fluent English which was helpful compared to other hotels I stayed at in Greece. The breakfast was excellent especially for me as a bacon and eggs person rather than a granola and fruit eater. The location was in a good area and a short walk from the Acropolis.
We were 4 people (2 sisters and a couple). We each had our own room and own bathroom. The kitchen was well-equipped, the apartment spacious and a fabulous terrace. It was a great start to our holiday in Greece. We each had our own space and privacy and we could also be together. Very good location in the center of Athens.
The hotel is new and very clean. The roof terrace was a lovely surprise. The service was excellent - by far the best during our trip to Greece. The rooms are compact but wasn’t an issue for us and the bed was very comfortable. The view from the room (505) was great! We will stay here again if we re-visit Athens
The room was great! Probably the best most comfortable bed we slept in in 2 weeks in Greece. The hotel location was very convenient and walkable to everything and right next to the train station line that takes you straight to the airport. Breakfast was excellent and had a view of the Parthenon
The hotel was clean, everything was washed and fresh. Had one of the best elevators in greece we have used (the whole family and luggage fit) carpark was great we park right outside the front door in the the free parking and lastly the breakfast was nice and light.
This facility was the meeting place for our Rick Steves' Greece tour. You don't expect 5 star accommodations but 3+ star, affordable hotels that are clean, serve a good breakfast, and typically close to the action. Check, check, check. No complaints here.
Location was perfect for what we were looking for. Walking distance to shops, sights and restaurants. Soula is an amazing host, very caring and welcoming! It made our last night in Athens and Greece in general special. Thank you🙏🏼
This was the best hotel of our trip to Greece. Really comfortable boutique hotel owned by two lovely sisters who really made our stay special. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Really fantastic hotel.
of the best hotels. I have stayed in quite a few in Greece but this was special. the room very clean. the staff was polite and helpful. The best Location in Athens
