EXCELLENT - ambiance, view, onsen experience, breakfast I loved walking into this hotel every day because we felt transported to a peaceful and serene setting after a day in the busy, dense city. The lobby even smelled so nice. We rented a high-floor room and admired the view every morning and evening (see photo). The rooftop onsen was so special -- I only wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more. The bed was comfortable and the room and amenities were designed thoughtfully. The breakfast was amazing (see photo). Do yourself a favor and reserve your breakfast in advance, for at least one day of your trip. You will not regret it. OKAY - space in room, location There was almost no space in the room to open our suitcases. We each just brought one small carry-on. This was not a big deal. But for some people who bring more luggage, you might find this too cramped. Also, it is about 15 minute walk from any metro station. Again, not a big deal. Just not ideal, for some.

Location was superb. 10min walk from Shinjuku station. Surroundings filled with dining options, right in the heart of Shinjuku’s best shopping options. The room view was awesome. The staff was super nice and kind and we didn’t have any problems. The food was great too. The onsen was very nice and organized and we got to use it a few times. The hotel was so beautiful on the lobby and our room was cute.

The location of the hotel is very convenient. The design of the building and onsen are beyond beautiful. Every detail in the building is a work of art. Although our room was small is was extremely comfortable with a wonderful view.

The location was fairly convenient to Shinjuku Station. 15 -20 minute walk. The place was clean and modern. Check-in is semi automated.The onsen upstairs was lovely. The bedding was very comfortable. Nice shower and bidet toilet. Nice yukata. Water and laundry, microwave on our floor. Tea and snacks, water boiler, hairdryer in the room. Very convenient 7-11 across the street. We paid around $170 US per night.

Ryokan YUEN in Tokyo was truly exceptional. Situated in the heart of Shinjuku, the hotel's central location offered easy access to the metro station and a plethora of dining options. However, the real highlight was the breathtaking rooftop onsen, providing unparalleled views of Tokyo. The cozy and elegant rooms, complete with comfortable beds and fresh yukatas daily, added to the overall charm of the experience. While the breakfast was stunning, it was the mesmerizing onsen that truly stole the show. The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating, ensuring a memorable stay. I highly recommend Ryokan YUEN for anyone seeking an unforgettable Tokyo getaway. The Onsen allows tattoos!

The onsen is nice. We visited a number of onsen during our trip to Japan and this one was authentic. Great to sit in an open air pool on the 18th floor and look out at the skyline! Comfortable beds, quite, clean. Thanks for holding our bags until evening on day of check out.
