We came in on the late ferry and the staff did a great job of arranging our late, self check-in. We found the room to be large and cozy, and perfect for a quick overnight stay on our way to the rest of the South Island.

Beautiful little cottage, charmingly decorated and close enough to walk to restaurants. There were good things provided for breakfast though we had to leave very early.

Enjoyed a lovely walk around Picton and along the coastline. Did a fabulous half day morning boat trip cruising around Charlotte Sound which was great, and ate dinner at the Oxley Hotel, also very good.

We loved the harbour views!
We loved the harbour views! There was also a good selection of cafes and restaurants, which all had friendly service and competitive pricing. We enjoyed our one-night stay and walked everywhere with ease.

Charming waterfront and very child friendly.
Charming waterfront and very child friendly. The pirate boat play area and splash pad is so nice for the little ones. We only walked around the centre up to the walkway bridge which present a marvelous view. As we are not trekkers, we only passed by Picton to proceed to Nelson from Wellington, and as overnight stop for the Interisland ferry back. There were many road closures when we visited. Perhaps next time, we will explore the surrounds.

A lovely little town with some fabulous walks.
A lovely little town with some fabulous walks. Stay a couple of days after getting off the ferry instead of just driving through. ( Although a little busy when a cruise ship arrived in port, but they are not there every day!)

The ferries between the north and south island arrives/leaves from Picton. You can kayak, dine or hit the Queen Charlotte Track. The track is a total of 70km with accommodation along the way. The views are stunning, the track well maintained, the lodges comfortable and offering great meals.

we were only there overnight, we took an early morning Ferry. the motel was in a great location, we could walk around town and to our restaurant for an evening meal. the reception Lady was wonderfully helpful
This hotel was a delightful surprise, extremely well located, great views, nice short walk into town for coffee or meals. Our ground-level room had a beautiful glass door opening onto a lawn that was unexpected. Nice bed & comfort level all around. Location well situated for turning in rental car & catching the ferry. Honestly, that was the only reason we stayed at this hotel and Picton, but wished we had booked more days. Very very pleasant! Feel this hotel is a cut above all the other choices in the area!
The staff went out of their way to ensure we were able to access the hotel and our room after hours as we arrived in Picton on the ferry at 11:30pm and sent instructions by email on how to get to the hotel and also sent a message at 10pm on how to access the hotel and room. The receptionist was so helpful and informative. I would happily stay in your hotel again. Thankyou so much for all your help, it made our journey and stay so much easier. Much appreciated.
Mere Chase and family.
The hotel couldn't have been any closer to the Picton ferry port which was really great because we have quite a delay and docked just after 11pm, hotel was easy to fine and self book in was very easy, we used it as an overnight stay only but the village/town is close if staying longer. The owners were very friendly
Breakfast was very easy, the choice was scone or toast with butter and jam/marmalade with tea/coffee
Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling on the ferry
Fabulous location in the center of Picton. Gorgeous spacious apartment that easily accommodated four people. Kitchen well appointed. Beautiful deck to sit and watch the sunset. Really comfortable beds. Ensuite shower was fabulous. Having a washing machine and dryer was great. Beautifully furnished. Easy to do catering in-house. Good secure free parking.
The apartment was so spacious and had everything we wanted. There were two bedrooms. The view from the front patio to the bay was lovely and serene. There were some ducks in the lawn and a nice lemon tree. The hostess was warm and friendly. We could park in front of the room. Hotel is in a residential neighborhood, rather than the downtown. This makes it quieter.
The hotel is well situated on the main road through the shopping precinct.
The check in was easy & quick.
The rooms are decidedly small but have just about everything anyone really needs for an overnight stop.
Directly across the road is a restaurant called The Barn. Excellent food and ambience.
It was centrally located, easy to walk anywhere in town, clean and tidy, with a pleasant feel about it. Parking is pretty tight with bigger cars, but the host helped organise everyone in and out, working together so we could get to our ferry without stress. Would return to stay in Picton longer!
The view was Exceptional. It really lived up to the name of Harbour View Motel. The lady at reception was superhelpful and gave good recomendations of where to go to eat. If we need to stay in Picton again we will be returning to this motel.
Warm welcome from the operators of this quaint B&B, and super comfy bed. The room had most things you would expect for an overnight stay. It is not a 5* hotel, so don't expect a hot breakfast or amenities like iron and ironing board!
Love this hotel. Very spacious and private unit with a great bed and shower. There was a comfortable couch in the living area and 2 TVs, one in the bedroom area as well. Felt like luxury. Will stay there whenever I go through Picton
Location is reasonably close to the Picton township, and the facilities are fantastic. Nice warm welcome from the staff. Stayed in one of the motels, reasonably priced, great parking for my Ute, I would love to stay here again.
Location is fine, although to be fair everything in Picton is within walking distance really.
WIFI was Ok
Shower strength was good.
Has a few off street parking spots.
I enjoyed my stay at Picton House. Although my room was small, it had everything I needed. The included breakfast was very good. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
