Staff was fantastic, pretty good value for money and yummi breakfast. I went there for Boom Festival and the location is perfect, about 30 min from the festival.

This property is situated in a small village which is a good starting point for the route of the historical villages. Despite the language barrier, as we do not speak Portuguese, we had no problem communicating. Our host Laura Mendes is a charming, attentive person who makes the best coffee in Portugal and a good breakfast. Her son who speaks English helped us when we arrived with all of the information. Provisions can be found in the village or close by at Orca, there is a small grocery and restaurant or there is the town of Lardosa not too far.
Providing free bikes, Couto dos Pardinhos features accommodations in Monforte da Beira. Guests can go for a swim in the private pool.

My husband and I loved staying at Couto dos Pardinhos. The 1000 acre ranch is home to breeding Lusitano horses, cattle, and fabulous farm dogs. The ranch is located out on a dirt road, miles from any town. The nights are dark and peaceful allowing for stargazing. We were able to see Jupiter and its moons through our spotting scope. If you decide to leave the ranch at all during your stay, the Tagus International Natural Park is nearby and is excellent for birdwatching. However, for us, the ranch provided enough to entertain us- birdwatching, hiking, visiting the animals, swimming in the pool, soaking up the views, and visiting with our amazing hosts. They cared for us as though we were family. The service was extraordinary. A beautiful breakfast including home-baked breads and homemade jams was included with our stay. We also purchased dinner each night. We are vegetarians and the hosts went out of their way to cater to our requests. The food was incredibly inexpensive. Our room was beautiful, immaculate, and very comfortable. We absolutely loved it here.
I stayed in the hotel for 1 week due to working in the area for that time. The beds were comfortable, the staff helpful and the breakfast was decent. We tried also the hotel swimming pool which was sufficient, however, it seemed that they clean it only once a week. Plus points also that the hotel is pet-friendly (I did not have a pet with me, but it was good to know).
The location of the Hotel was just ideal as it is the entrance to the village and the staff were very welcoming.
Went for a lovely swim in the pool which was of a very decent size.
The breakfast was one of the best I have experienced for a very long time and that is no exaggeration.st
