Didn't get to experience much except casinos due to the time of year we visited. A lot of places were closed. The town in a typical tourist town, can't really see much of the history the place holds.

My husband and I love Deadwood and have made more than 20 trips in the last 10 years. Lots to do in the area including visits to different museums, hiking, ghost tours, shopping, wine tasting, great food, and gambling. There is still a lot that we have not seen and done, which keeps us making the 10 hour drive 2 times a year.

We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned.
We went after a snowfall and streets weren't cleaned. Some businesses and shops were closed and the sidewalks never got shoveled and were very slippery. Everyone that we met was friendly and fun. There was a lot to do and see, next time we'll stay longer. We'll be back as soon as we can, but in the fall rather than winter.

Lots of fun things to do and see.
Lots of fun things to do and see. Reenactments going on everyday on the main strip. The local saloons were great and filled with great atmosphere! We did not have enough time to do any tours as we were only there one night but we would come back to explore. We happened to walk into an outdoor concert that was awesome! It was very easy to get around on the local bus that travels by the hotels. We went to get some coffee in the morning at the Pumphouse which was filled with beautiful locally made glass art. It is worth a quick stop!

Staff were nice especially Broadmoor.
Staff were nice especially Broadmoor.
Hotel was not very clean.
You had to go into the CASINO for breakfast - not appropriate for children.
Everyone in the casino could see you in the swimming pool - creepy experience.
Signs up everywhere in case you stole something! Nothing worth stealing.
Lobby so small.
Hotel was a good walk outside of Deadwood.

Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin.
Had breakfast at the hotel inside the Franklin. Excellent food. Gambled at Mr. Wu's where they have free hotdogs, drinks and popcorn for players. We were there on a Tuesday night so the town was very quiet. Prefer to go when there are more people having fun.
1899 Inn is a beautiful old building, loads of character and definitely the best B&B we have stayed in in the USA. The property was clean, tidy, comfortable and the breakfasts truly a revelation to us from the U.K., not what we would generally eat for breakfast but absolutely delicious! The hosts could not do enough for you. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone. 5 minutes walk to the the hustle and bustle of downtown Deadwood but very quiet and comfortable.
Great location at the end of town, parking available if necessary. I called to let the hotel know that we would check in late and they said we could check in any time during the night which was helpful - when we arrived we had to go to the neighbouring hotel to check in though as the Four Points itself was not actually 24/7 reception. All went smoothly. Clean, spacious room with everything we needed for a night.
Very clean, quiet room. This hotel is right in the heart of Deadwood, so you can walk to all of the businesses in the historic district. The decor in this hotel is well done and all of the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere is great. There were a lot of items provided with the room that were a nice touch (Q tips, cotton balls,ECT.)
We love old historic places - which is why we visited Deadwood! We were drawn to the Franklin Hotel and stayed in a suite to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Decent accommodations - but you have to understand the place is old and historic! We enjoyed dinner at Legend's which is located in the basement of the hotel.
The location is great ! (can't beat the view) Just about anywhere in Deadwood, is with- in walking distance! Everybody I came in contact with were very nice ! The food at the hotel sports bar/ lounge was very good ! If /when I'm back in Deadwood, I'll definitely be staying at this place !!!
The lobby and casino are clean and beautiful. Most of the staff was helpful and courteous. I was there to perform at the Wild West Songwriters Festival. The location of the Franklin made it easy for me to perform at different venues during the event and to go listen to other songwriters.
We had a great stay here. The owner was super helpful and gave good advice on things to do in the area. Easy 5-10 minute walk to town. There is also a shuttle that leaves right from the hotel. Great breakfast place a few doors down.
Always enjoy staying at this exceptional property. The view up on the hill is beautiful, the casino is very nice and the restaurants are good. There is a hourly city shuttle service to downtown Deadwood, which is a nice amenity.
Cheri was great! And she was very concerned and considerate of our needs and making sure we were comfortable. Enjoyed staying there! Very convenient and walkable to downtown Deadwood. Loved the huge ceiling fan!!
Amazing location of hotel situated at the top end of the main street. Easy walking access to all town facilities.
Good secure parking. Room was very clean and quiet. Hotel linked to a casino with coffee shop.
Staff were friendly, bed was comfortable and shower had decent water pressure/drainage . Location was fine and there's a Deadwood Trolley stop right outside the hotel. Breakfast was fine for a Super 8
We have stayed several times, and each time is excellent. One of the few hotels, in Deadwood, which offers breakfast and excellent coffee. We also love the central location of downtown area.
