If you are long for a breakfast that isn't continental style explore through here. the food choices are great but be wary of vendors trying to rip you off. 55 euro per kg for cheese ticketed price but tried to charge me 36 euro for 200 grams.
Nothing like lively Asian night markets or even Budapest Central Market, Naschmarkt is actually a pricey, large cluster of stalls and restaurants for shoppers who know what they are looking for but without much atmosphere to it.
Disappointing - there was nothing particularly special about this market. It sells various foods from around the world and has a few tacky souvenir shops. A lot of locals seemed to go there for breakfast/coffee though, so it must have something!
Too many cheap, and commercial things, for example you find literally dozens places the very same dried fruits, obviously from the same source, and the same we can say for olives. Restaurants mainly tourist traps. This market was excellent and unique in Europe 25 years ago, now it is sinking year by year to an average bazare.
Don't go when it's raining as shops close leaving just restaurants. And beware the hard sell at some restaurants. Have a good look around first. We stopped at one and then left eventually choosing Trattoria Pulcinella.
Visually is a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it turns to be a tourist trap. The "exotic" food products sold there, although visually appealing, are of poor quality, poor taste, and definitely overpriced. The restaurants are too crowded, understaffed, and the quality of service, cleanliness, and food are below average. It is worth a short visit, but eating there (both at restaurants and food stands) has been repeatedly a negative experience.
The location is good, close to Naschmarkt and Neubaugasse. Connections with the public transportation is good so you can reach pretty much any locations in Vienna and the neighbourhood is cool with good cafes or restaurants. I enjoyed being close to the 5. 6. 7. 15. 16. districts of Vienna where the hype is, with nice shops and interesting museums to discover. Staff was very prompt and nice to arrange two extra nights due to the GDL (DB) strike in Germany. The team is friendly, efficient and willing to help.
The location was perfect, it offered quick access to the U-Bahn and other public transportation, as well as clean rooms and bathrooms. Although they offer a reasonably priced in-house cafe, there are also several supermarkets, cafe's, and restaurants nearby. Not to mention the Naschmarkt, it in itself offers some of the best produce and baked goods in Vienna. The city center is just a short and pleasant walk away. The assistant manager of the hostel, Mr. Dworak, is also extremely helpful and friendly!
The staff of Hotel Schani Salon is exceptional friendly and helpful at any point in time, even before arrival and actual booking via booking.com. The location is perfect, Subway station is directly in front of the Hotel, major shopping street too. Preferred locations like Zollergasse, Naschmarkt or bars recommended by timeout (top10 bars of Vienna) are in walking distance. The room was exactly as advertised, clean and great breakfast was available too.
The location of the apartment is fantastic. Very accessible by bus and subway. Bakery, supermarket, restaurants, cafes, Naschmarkt just around the corner. The rooms of the apartment are spacious, tasteful, clean and the kitchen has everything you need, even a dishwasher. The terrace is a plus you can seat relax and enjoy the view.
Lovely spacious apartment that can easily be for four people with two double bedrooms. Great kitchen setup with enough equipment to cook properly if you don’t want to eat out all the time. Overlooks the Naschmarkt where you can buy beautiful food but also supermarkets and restaurants all around you.
The location was perfect for a visit to Vienna during a heavily touristed time of year. The local grocery stores, cafes and restuarants were not swarmed with tourists, but we were in very easy walking distance to the Naschmarkt and metro to get around the city.
Location perfect: 5 minutes from Staatsoper, Musikverein, Naschmarkt, Karlsplatz UBahn, etc. Easy entry upon arrival. Kitchen adequately furnished, with a DeLonghi coffee machine with capsules, etc. Although facing a very busy street, the apartment is quiet!
Great location close to Naschmarkt, easy to find and easy to walk to the city. The room was fairly big and with modern interior and comfort. For breakfast, a hostess was greeting everyone and asking how they liked the breakfast. Great!
I like the location. It's near Karlsplatz, Naschmarkt and Vienna's beautiful city center. It's walking distance to the Hauptbahnhof and if you don't like that the 13A bus is 50 meters away.
Naschmarkt is THE place to try various food - from local sausages and cured meat, cheese, and produce to middle-Eastern foods like kebab, falafel, hummus. Also available are fresh fish and meat, fruts and veggies, tons of spices. There are also Chinese food shops in the area.
