I can't believe what an amazing building this is. We stayed in the rooms with the lofts, and they are gorgeous and very well appointed. Each room had a turntable a guitar and lots of nice little amenities (I used the hot water bottle to sooth an aching shoulder). The guitar has a tuner on it too. The mini bar area is very well stocked, and it is quite reasonable priced. They want you to have a beer, and they're not going to make you pay £10 per beer like some hotels. We also got a keg in the room for a little bit more money, and there are of course the famous shower beers. The decor is really cool too--all based around their funky art they use for the beers. Even if you are not a big beer person, it is a great place to stay, The restaurant downstairs has delicious food with really nice portion sizes, and the breakfasts were included with our room--full breakfasts right off the menu, not a sad hotel breakfast. I especially recommend the vegan breakfast. We also got a free welcome beer and a free beer for not requesting towel laundry, although housekeeping did come every day to make the beds. They are well staffed and have lots of chill, friendly people there to help you out. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, go there to hang out in the bar or for brunch. They also have a nice terrace and patio to sit outside. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk from the last stop on the 100 Airport Bus, and it's really close to all the downtown sights. We were able to walk to just about every attraction from there. Finally, I have to say that it's a nice and quiet hotel too. It's on a quiet street, and the walls are very thick, plus there's two doors between you and the hall. I slept great there. Definitely a nice place to stay for anyone wanting to explore Edinburgh.

The Scott Monument allows for people to climb up to its two...

The Scott Monument allows for people to climb up to its two viewpoints, but the circular staircases grow narrower as you climb, so it's not for people of all sizes. The views from the two levels, especially the top, are absolutely breathtaking.

    Bigger than I expected.

Bigger than I expected. Interesting that it was built for under £20k but cost millions to restore it. Good views of Princes Street and the city from the top. Can get very busy. Not for anyone who struggles with stairs!

The hotel’s location is the best part! Very convenient and accessible to many attractions in just walking distance. My room has a balcony with nice overlooking views of the city’s iconic landmarks such as Scott monument along Princes St and Edinburgh castle…They also serve really good breakfast with great selections (including haggis). And the staff were very attentive to your concerns and needs.

It was fair price and easy to access. There is a bus station nearby but we mainly walked because Edinburgh is a walkable city in my opinion, it takes 20-25mins from there to Scott monument. We felt safe around and staff was lovely.
