Hotels near Old Rissei Elementary School, Kyoto

Great location and a cool vibe as an old school that was repurposed into a hotel. Perfect for starting and ending day trips to different areas around Kyoto. I definitely plan on going back next time I’m in Kyoto. They also had a special geisha event for residents which made it even more memorable. Definitely wish I took more advantage of the 3rd floor patio area, fire pit, and drinks.

Everything from the moment we enter the hotel till the end welcoming friendly staff all the facilities around you and whenever you want any help they will provide asap.

Self check-in/out process was easy. Hotel staff spoke good English and were very helpful with our requests. Location was great as it was close to food, shops and public transport.

Great location at the center of everything. Not far from the train station and walking distance from so many bars, restaurants and shopping areas

It was a great room, relatively large, clean and quiet. The location was good to discover all parts of the city. It was not cheap, but it did not cost a fortune.

The place is very central. At night we heard a little sound from the street but it did not affect our sleep. Receptionists are very kind and helpfull.

It was very clean and well stocked with everything you need and more. The bed was comfortable, and the Japanese touches made it feel like I was in Japan. The location was perfect and close to public transit. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend it.

Very central Very clean Spacious Quiet

Bed was very comfortable and the location was excellent. Even though it was on a busy corner, the room was very quiet and soundproofed. One of the best hotels we have stayed at during our trip in Japan!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful stay with exceptional hospitality! We had an amazing stay at Miru Kyoto Gion! Everything was taken care of so thoughtfully, making our experience completely stress-free. The staff went above and beyond to help us with everything. When we arrived, our luggage had already been placed in our room, and they had kindly accepted the packages we ordered online before our arrival. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, attentive, and always happy to help. We also loved the complimentary breakfast treats, including croissants, coffee, and granola. Such a lovely way to start the day! Our room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. What truly made our stay special was the kindness and hospitality of the entire team. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience in Kyoto. Thank you so much for everything! We would absolutely love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto! ❤️

The location is perfect to explore Kyoto. Many important attractions are in walking distance and it is in the heart of Gion so we were able to live the Kyoto very best way. There are lots of good restaurants to try good quality japanese meals.Train station is close to explore other attractions out of the center. Rooms are well designed to feel the japanese culture. Beds are comfortable. The staff in the front desk is very helpful.

Location is great, the organic hygienic items they offer every night is useful. The staff is really helpful. Breakfast includes various types of food that everyone can enjoy. It is really clean and we are so satisfied.

Super clean, spacious room. Location is central, beautiful lively neighborhood and everything is reachable even by foot. The staff is helpful and very friendly. I would come back here 100%

I stayed for one night at this fantastic hotel, which is perfectly located in the middle of a prime shopping area in Kawaramachi, Kyoto. The hotel is surrounded by great shopping options, with a large GU/Uniqlo store beside it and a Nike shop right across the street. It's also just a 27-minute walk to Yasaka Pagoda and only 9 minutes to the lively Pontocho area. The room was surprisingly spacious for the price which is $30usd a night, and it came with all the necessary amenities, including toiletries and cozy bathrobes. I really appreciated the little extras, like the free water, coffee, tea and microwave available outside the room. What really stood out to me was how affordable it was, especially considering the prime location. It's rare to find such a great deal in this area, and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. Highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers looking to be right in the heart of the city!
