Start your day early. Review the map so you can strategize how you can visit all the museums. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes.

The Smithsonian offers many, free, museum visits! We went to the newest, African-American history museum. And we recently went to the Smithsonian's free, national zoo. If you are a walker, you may walk, walk, walk, and enjoy the many free opportunities on the many acres of land. If walking is not possible, flag a cab (after roughly determining what mileage and fee there is, of course). Get the cab to drop you at THE Smithsonian attraction that you will try for the day. Walk a little, and flag a cab again, when you are ready to return to wherever you are staying.
Too crowded to see well at Spring Break. Was not as impressed with most exhibits as I wanted to be for the Smithsonian. Should have been more impressive, more informative, more creatively displayed considering the collections they own.
I could spend a couple of days at just the Museum of Natural History, so with 11 museums under the name of Smithsonian, make a priority list and plan to spend several hours at each! You wont regret the extra cushion of time!
