We stayed at the Sono Hanoi hotel after a long bus from Da Nang. Staff made us feel truly looked after. They are so warm and kind to give us the room earlier. Everyone were so friendly. They showed us best local foods. Their recommendation for the cruise to Lanha bay was really amazing. They booked for us a cabin with balcony with no extra fee. Strongly recommend!

The staff was really amazing . They went above and beyond to provide outstanding service . The rooms were exceptionally clean . The location is a little difficult to find via gps and for that reason it is a quiet place to stay - close to market but tucked away from the hectic streets of old town Hanoi .

    I loved riding around west lake visiting obscure coffee shops, playing cards and board games with friends. A beautiful sunset over the lake is amazing to capture. Along with a visit to the local temple. You also can’t pass up a local coconut (Kem) ice cream 🍦.

    Its a big lake and everything around it are few and far...

    Its a big lake and everything around it are few and far between, we went there for lunch, found a nice mexican (of all things) and a nice park, a more authentic spot with markets but mainly is residential.

    It is a nice walk from the Train Street if you don’t mind...

    It is a nice walk from the Train Street if you don’t mind dealing with millions of scooters. First you stop at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and from there you have 15 minutes to get to the lake. You will walk through the very nice neighborhoods where most embassies seem to be located. There is a nice trail around the lake where you can observe local sport fishermen.

    It was my first time doing self check-in, but everything was explained very clearly. Check-in went smoothly. The apartment was clean and nicely decorated, with everything I needed. I arrived early so the staff helped us store our luggage. They were very responsive and kind. This was my second trip to Hanoi, and staying near West Lake gave me a new experience—much quieter and more relaxing than the Old Quarter. Definitely recommended!
