EVERYTHING. But mainly the people. You guys were all amazing. Thanks, you made my experience. The place is exactly like in the pictures: really cozy, familiar, basic but you have all you need. These are the kind of place that should exist, managed by local communities - not 5 star resorts built by western people. And it's amazing to have hotel + diving in the same place.

Best place we’ve stayed at in Malaysia so far. Great location - right next to the KK night market. Really nice, clean room with so many amenities! Water, fridge (for all out market goodies) slippers, iron, + thoughtful details like an umbrella, and much more. All presented beautifully with nice ribbons and packaging. The hosts were very attentive, helpful and kind. They made sure that our every need was addressed. They even accommodated for a slightly later check out due to some issues we had. Very updated look + free upgrade to a window room. It is easy to see they take great pride in their accommodations and a positive experience for their guests. Loved our stay here and would come again.

The location was excellent because it is surrounded by convenient store such as Orange, Paradise Spa just below and Live Band and Karaoke Lounges, all within five minutes walking distance. We stayed at the Lazenda Hotel Suite and there are two restaurants which stayed open until late morning and 24 hours. Parking for my rented car was safe and spacious just under the hotel. Massage at Paradise Spa was around RM 120 per hour depending on the package.

Our third stay here! This time stayed at the Deluxe Double room. The room was spacious and had all that you need - from a smart TV to a hairdryer and even an iron. Plenty of storage as well. The hotel is within walking distance to Imperial Mall.

Great pool and I had nice views of the river and the Legislative Building. Everyone on staff was really nice…hotel was very clean. My room was a bit sparse of furniture with no chaise or comfortable chair. There was a desk and chair and space for another nice chair and end table…but otherwise I had a good stay here! It had a nice bar/lounge that was popular.

The hotel is kept very clean and tidy it’s the tourists that don’t clean up after themselves that creat the mess but the staff are in it very quickly. The room we had was in the fourth floor with a rear facing view but to be honest your in your room to shower and sleep. The beds was comfy shower really good. Water tea and coffee replenished every day and it’s decent size mugs in your room. We ate one evening meal as we like to explore and it was very nice. Decent portions and not over priced. The breakfast was nice it catered for all different cultures and was plentiful. We were a bit disappointed at how people piled their plates and didn’t eat it then went back for more. The pool area is lovely very relaxing and we always found a sun lounger it got quieter mid morning. All the staff are super friendly and always willing to help. It’s about a fifteen to twenty min walk into town where you will see local culture. And it’s a pathway all the way. You’ll be greeted with lots of hello from the locals. This is my honest opinion and obviously make your own conclusions. Would I stay here again YES it’s definitely worth what you pay.

An absolutely amazing resort located in a very quiet and secluded stretch of beach about a 40 minute drive from the city center. If you're looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation, this is the place for you. We stayed 1 month and wanted to stay longer. Very nice city, different from the west of Malaysia. Lots of nice activities to do. I did mount Kinabalu hike over 2 days and did snorkelling and swimming in Kota Kinabalu. I missed the hot springs, probably next time :)

The shopping plaza is right opposite the hotel which is...

The shopping plaza is right opposite the hotel which is convenient for last minute shopping before you start any tours. We found the Balin Rooftop Bar was a great place to eat and have a drink. Bistro 88 on the harbour front was also convenient and had a good vibe. It's easy to walk around the town and we never felt unsafe. Our hotel did not have a pool so we bought a day pass at The Sabah Hotel to use their pool and have lunch.

It’s a great place to see wildlife!

It’s a great place to see wildlife! We really enjoyed the rainforest discovery centre. It was quiet and there were lots of monkeys in a beautiful setting. The sunbear sanctuary was our next favourite place. The Orangutan sanctuary was so busy! We only saw a few orangutan, but lots of people. Paganakan DII Tropical retreat was our favourite accommodation.

Kundasang is true to the nickname "New Zealand of Malaysia".

Kundasang is true to the nickname "New Zealand of Malaysia"..Such amazing view with breathtaking scenery of Mount Kinabalu, mountains, pine trees with beautiful flora fauna. Such wonderful breezy air. Only that food are not many choices. Malay food mostly and few Chinese shop. Vegetarian meals are difficult to find but you can get the restaurant prepare for you but there wont be many choices tough. I brought a group of 16 people and all enjoyed the place. Only thing missed to do the island hopping due to the haze so surely will come back again....

It's an interesting place to visit, very clean and oh so...

It's an interesting place to visit, very clean and oh so quiet after spending a month in the Philippins. The locals are all very friendly and welcoming, do visit the food markets and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need to know what to eat.

A beautiful spot to relax and unwind.

A beautiful spot to relax and unwind. Whether you want to sit and read a book, stare at the ocean, swim, snorkel, kayak, or enjoy guided walks, diving - it was there if you wanted it. Food was lovely, staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it as a holiday destination. Close to Kota Kinabalu but feels like a million miles away.

excellent trip if you want to enjoy an eco-resort in the midst of nature. Villas were clean and well equipped. The tree houses looked interesting but it had a steep steps to climb to. I had to book the villas as there was 3 of us. No regrets though. They have a private beach and all the staff speak English. The cafe serves reasonably priced food but they only have buffet breakfast if the guests are more than 35. Only downside is it is difficult to Grab around that area.

Love the malls, beaches and food.

Love the malls, beaches and food. Not satisfied with the length of stay. Could have stayed longer. Food price - quite pricy. Easy to get around Miri as we drive our own cars. Permaisuri Mall is a must-visit, didn't explore much due to time constraints. Will return in future.

KK is a compact modern city which has not abandoned its...

KK is a compact modern city which has not abandoned its Asian and Colonial origins. It has a great location and a huge variety of dining options. The locals are friendly and welcoming. Use the Grab app to get around; fast, cheap, and convenient. But also take a heritage walk, maybe early or later in the day, it is pretty hot at mid-day. We did a cooking course of local Sabah cuisine which was a great experience. KK is definitely worth a visit.
