Location, Location, Location. It’s five minutes from the airport bus stop. A lot of pubs and the castle are around the corner. But my room was very quiet, couldn’t hear any noise from drunken people. The staff is friendly and helpful. My room was very cozy, the bed perfect. Best thing: two different types of sockets - you can use your US charger without any issues.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and surroundings. The staff were all lovely and the breakfast was excellent (and in a beautiful setting overlooking the grounds). The spa is small but very nice, the indoor/outdoor pool is unlike anything I have seen before and we absolutely loved it. Can't recommend the Lyrath enough and can't wait to go back again hopefully!
that the hotel could accomodate our family of 5. i also appreciated the free parking. Finally, i made a mistake on my booking dates and the hotel staff was incredible to reach out to me and change my dates. i would definitely stay at this hotel in the future.
The Castle was located on a little island and the car ferry operates every 15 minutes. So it was convenient to get around. The Castle was well maintained great service and food was mainly grown on the grounds.

Amazing property and staff that is incredibly welcoming and will to accommodate requests. Would stay again and again. Only downside is not much in the area, drove an hour or so to Waterford and Kilkenny.
Locations and staff were excellent. We left for an early tour one day, they had breakfast bags ready for us to take with us even though breakfast hadn’t opened yet. Very helpful and child-friendly.
The amenities in the room were very nice. Lovely bedroom we had the deluxe room. My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary there and we will definitely be back next year!
Fabulous views from beautiful well kept rooms. Staff so lovely and food delicious. It was so lovely we are making it a tradition for every year going forward!!
Everytime we come here we always are blown away by the quality of service and rooms provided. Rooms are amazing and the food/bar service is top quality also.

Marvellous city with something for all age groups for couples and families alike. Full of history with excellent Museums - free entry. I am coming back for exhibitions I simply didn’t have enough time to take in more.

Walking Tours a must in this town if you want the learn the history.
great pubs, restaurants and shops.
If you are active you can see it all in a day..better to relax and enjoy it over two days in my opinion.

An interesting, welcoming town.
An interesting, welcoming town. Some fantastic beaches nearby. The Irish Heritage Museum is close to the Whitford House Hotel and well worth a visit - lots to see, allow plenty of time. Johnston Castle and Tintern Abbey are among the many fascinating places to visit.

What an unexpected surprise.
What an unexpected surprise. Waterford packed a punch in terms of a lovely get away. Our favourite spots were around The Viking Triangle within the city and then Dunmore East for the sea, Mount Congreve- a gardener's delight, and Dungarvan, which is a charming harbour town.
In terms of eating, I would highly recommend Mount Congreve for lunch and Bodega in Waterford City for dinner. We also checked out The Garden Mount Wolsley where you can delight in different plants and flowers from all over the world and have a fabulous lunch in their cafe.
All in all, we were so impressed with Waterford. I would highly recommend staying in Granvilles Hotel too on Meagher Quay. It's four star with exceptional service and value.

Swords is a bustling town with a reasonable range of shops...
Swords is a bustling town with a reasonable range of shops and heaps of Cafes. Nearby Pavillions shopping complex is a very large mall with everything you need.
Swoprds Castle in town is worth a visit but parking is a major problem in the township unless you carry cash. It would be so much easier if cards were accepted. Streets are narrow and can get congested.

If you are looking for cutting-edge city life, this is not...
If you are looking for cutting-edge city life, this is not for you. Dundalk is a former railway town, largely built round the (now defunct) works for the GNRI and with much 19th century red-brick architecture. It has a busy high street with a lot of small shops, pubs and restaurants, none are grand, it reminds me of similar towns in the UK before planning blight took hold. A lot of effort seems to have gone into smartening the place up in recent years, which is nice. Would that other towns of its scale have survived so well it would be nothing exceptional, but as so few have, it has a real charm. As a base, it is well sited to explore the countryside around, which has a long and interesting history, with a lot of historic sites.

Fabulous historic town, well loved and maintained by those who are fortunate to live there. Loved the food at McKevitt's hotel. Local pubs were good fun and staff very helpful. We rented a couple bikes and cycled the green way that takes you to Newry. Visitors need to check opening hours as some of the businesses/restaurants are closed on specific days.
