- From $429.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 212 reviewsIt is a beautiful hotel, we stayed at Augustus Lido, a house built by Agnelli, the father of Gianni Agnelli , it is a beautiful house with a big porch where breakfast and dinner are served overlooking a beautiful garden with super old trees. The staff is very attentive, special recognition to Edoardo (waiter), Simona and Letizia (front desk), Elena (waiter) and Stefano (best concierge ever). They treat you like family. Room was spacious and bed, pillows comfortable. The beach club is superb, elegant, discreet and secure. You can easily access the beach club through and under path built by Agnelli family so you don’t have to cross the street to access the beach.Guest review byMaríaUnited States
- From $801.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 254 reviewsThis was probably the best hotel I ever stayed in. The staff was exceptional, offering to assist us in any way possible. Additionally, the hotel does an extraordinary job giving the guests everything possible, even a going-away gift of chocolates and water. There are staff members throughout the property assisting the guests. The facilities are beautiful, with all details attended to, including beautiful art sculptures. The buffet breakfast is one of a kind. The rooftop pool is spectacular. I will be back.Guest review byDr. Gina La MonicaUnited States

Great place to stay and a lot of history, arts, and culture to be explored. I didn't expect that it is such a nice and beautiful place. Would recommend to everyone, especially the cafes and tavernas. I had not enough time during my stay to see enough of all the places in Lucca - so will be back - hopefully soon.Guest review byGregorAustria - 8.0

Not very affordable as you need to pay for beach space and extras. Beaches are meant for all to enjoy and be free like in Australia. All beaches are for all to enjoy. Didn’t go once to the beach to swim or other. It’s not a holiday for summer it’s to expensiveGuest review byChrissoulaAustralia - 4.0
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration.
Everything was a bit run-down and in need of restoration. The beaches and restaurants were almost entirely empty of people, so there was a a lack of excitement and "buzz" about the whole area. I might have expected this a month later, but not in September.Guest review byAntony - 10.0

Beautiful little town nestled in between the mountains and sea. The locals are very friendly, it's an easy town to walk around as it's not too big. The beach is HUGE so you can have a lovely walk along it. Lots of places to eat and drink to suit a variety of budgets – highlights were Caffe Soldi, Caffe Roma, Pesce Baracca, Bocconcino. There are lots of places to visit nearby – Pietrasanta, Lucca, Pisa, Cinequeterra – or you can relax on the beach in Forte, you will not be bored!Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Torre del Lago Puccini is truly a unique and special place, full of atmosphere and charm. It is here that one of the greatest opera composers, Giacomo Puccini, lived and created his masterpieces. Today, you can visit the museum in his former villa, where he composed his operas – an unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to all lovers of art and music. The town itself enchants with its beauty – located by a picturesque lake, with a beautifully designed open-air theatre dedicated to opera. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the people are kind and friendly, and everywhere you go you can feel the authentic Italian spirit. On top of that, the food is absolutely delicious – especially the pizza, which is a must-try.We have already had the pleasure of attending two breathtaking opera performances here, and we are already planning our third visit. Torre del Lago Puccini is a place that draws you back again and again – we sincerely recommend it to everyone who loves opera, Italian hospitality, and the beauty of this country.Guest review byMirosławUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Very peaceful to look at the mountains while enjoying your morning coffee. Leave more time for communting to the property every day from where ever you visit, it is a small, winding road, a tunnell and not fun to do at night or after a glass of wine. I will look to stay closer to Pisa next time.Guest review byKristenUnited States - 10.0

Barga is quiet, not heaving with tourists, and everyone we met was friendly and helpful.it’s a lovely hill top town. We did a couple of their recommended walks…not easy walking. Tourist info office not open Monday through Wednesday, try the travel agency accross the road from The Alpino. Take the bus to Barga from Lucca, as Barga is on a hill and the station is in the valley, a few kilometres away, can’t guarantee taxi either.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom
