- From $131.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 3,512 reviewsI just want to say that beside the very convenient location and good facilities, one thing that absolutely helped to make up my mind to make more APA bookings was... the incredible quality of the bedding. I could have stayed in bed forever. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who struggles with sleep or who is simply extra worn out from carrying heavy luggage. 10/10Guest review byMiriamFrance

Tokyo is a combination of every great city that you could think of and more! Harajuku is a balance between underground and luxury design. The inner streets have all of the smaller shops that made the area popular. Residential areas are walkable and quiet despite all of the tourists. Tourist could get overwhelmed at first glance but after a day or two, they could navigate the many interesting alleyways like a pro! There's everything from themed Cafe's, fast food, to intimate spots to grab a bite and a drink so don't forget to look up! you might miss a hidden gem!Guest review byAletheaJapan - 10.0

Side city of tokyo not crowded by foreign tourists, Short distance from place with great nature like Hachioji castle ruins, mount takao and sagamiko. Also good shopping experience in downtown and neighboring cities.Guest review byIriyaaMalaysia - 10.0
Love this neighbourhood.
Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.Guest review bymitchUnited States - 10.0

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.Guest review byBDonutCanada - 10.0
The city is literally amazing.
The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 8.0
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Most important: Rent a car when visiting.
Most important: Rent a car when visiting. The island isn't suited for exploration by foot. The distance between places of interest can be great and the whole island is full of steep slopes. I rented an electric bike and would only recommend it to people who have the explicit goal of biking. It is worth noting that you can reach the island by ferry AND plane. Taking the ferry has three sleeping options - I STRONGLY advise against anything but the most expensive one. I don't know if the first class is good, I just know that the other two are a surefire way to a bad night. Taking the plane is about as expensive or even cheaper than first class on the ferry, only takes an hour, and isn't a 10 hour ship ride. IF you take the ship to the island, I strongly recommend taking the plane back. The ferry leaves for Hachjiojima at 22:30 and arrives at 9:00 - an overnight trip. But it leaves the island at 9:30 and arrives in Tokyo at ~20:00, meaning you lose an entire day. Regarding the island itself: I think some of the highlights are climbing Hachijofuji and exploring the abandoned Royal Hotel. Both are manageable within a day. Depending on the weather, Hachijo has a beautiful night sky - it's not called Dark Sky Island for nothing. Other things worth doing are visiting Plant Park in the west of the island and exploring the southern side. There are some nice onsen experiences to be had in the south, but not all of them are open at all times. Planning a trip of two days, - arrival by ferry at 9 AM, doing things, spending a night, doing things and leaving by plane at 5 PM, - seems prudent choice. It's a subtropical island, which you might want to keep in mind if you plan on visiting in summer.Guest review byJulian - 10.0
Tokyo always makes a great trip, its just a place that is...
Tokyo always makes a great trip, its just a place that is like no other. Going alone or as a pair is the best way to experience Tokyo. Group trips can be exhausting, especially with kids. Most of Tokyo is not kid/pram friendly as Tokyo is a ground up's world with streets and train stations built for the fast moving people. Tokyo is also a city that cant often provide for large groups (space and seating), there is no capacity for groups larger than 4 that but can some how still make that work with extra effort. Tokyo is still a friendly city with so much to do and food to experience. Yes you do need basic Japanese as the younger work force do not simply speak english, a translation tool is your best way to communicate. If I was to choose Tokyo vs New York city, it would be a close call with Tokyo being a safer and cleaner place.Guest review byHai samUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Excellent location for shopping, I spent a lot of time browsing the shops and trying food, especially around Celeo by the station. The station is massive and you are able to conveniently go anywhere from there. My favourite place to eat was at Sherlock Holmes, close by to the station. They are fantastic, it's a great place to dine out and the food is amazing. The bakeries in the area are great as well, such as DONQ.Guest review byMaja.
