- From $217.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 3,222 reviewsThis hotel was recommended to us by Portuguese friends who were delighted. At first it seemed like an ordinary hotel. But then we were able to appreciate all the advantages in detail, for example, the interior design and its convenience. The room was very large and comfortable. Everything is new. Carefully thought-out lighting and furniture. A comfortable bed, shower, clothes hanger and everything else! A wonderful view of the pool from a comfortable balcony. The hotel has many different room categories and buildings. If this is important to you, find out about the room and the view from the window in advance. There are several swimming pools, including a fun pool with music and a DJ, aqua aerobics and a bar where you can sit while in the water. Payment for food and drinks will be written on the card from the room. You can pay upon check-out. There is also a quiet pool and children's pools with slides. Pools, both outdoor and indoor. Many comfortable sun loungers. Some of them are in the water. There are beautiful sun umbrellas. Comfortable and beautiful beach towels. There are many guests, but there is enough space for everyone, the guests do not interfere with each other, but on the contrary, create a pleasant atmosphere. The hotel restaurant must be booked in advance, they cook delicious food there, and the restaurant is popular. We booked the restaurant immediately after booking a room at the hotel in messages on booking.com and did not regret it. But if there are no seats in the restaurant, then the bar in the lobby is suitable for a snack. There is also room service. There are several underground garages. The garage was convenient and new. Parking for guests is free. After dinner, I recommend walking around the area around the pools and taking photos. The photos turn out very beautiful due to the beautiful sky and the available lighting and the well-equipped territory.Guest review byOlgaPortugal
- From $128.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,692 reviewsIt's the greatest hotel ever. I loved to stay here very much. Wonderful view, located in the beautiful nature reserve. Big and clean room and heat under the floor in the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bonus was the snow. Great experience :) To travelers who travel by public transportation - it's possible. there is a chatel that drives from Coviliha to the hotel and arrives at the top of Torre to enjoy the ski and snow view.Guest review byjoyIsrael
- From $145.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 144 reviewsIt was a relaxing stay in the middle of nature. The accomodation was clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed walking along the river surrounded by trees, also had fun playing archery. It was a great place for a city break and actually was not so remote. It only took about 10 minutes by driving to find a restaurant for dinner. Finally, Rui, the host, was very friendly and helpful. We will want to come back again during the summer time.Guest review byJennifer WuTaiwan

A Surprising Gem in Castelo Branco
A Surprising Gem in Castelo Branco Nestled in Portugal’s Beira Baixa region, Castelo Branco is a city that seamlessly blends medieval charm with contemporary surprises. After wandering through the narrow streets of the medieval town, I found myself unexpectedly enchanted by dinner at Mãos da Horta—a culinary surprise where local ingredients shine in creative, soulful dishes. The Jardim do Paço Episcopal, with its elegant baroque statues and manicured terraces, offers a peaceful retreat, while Parque do Barrocal stuns with its natural rock formations and striking modern design. Art lovers shouldn’t miss the Cargaleiro Museum, dedicated to the colorful works of Manuel Cargaleiro, and the city's amazing theatre brings a surprising dose of cultural sophistication. To wind down, Ponto Winebar is perfect for sipping regional wines in a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. With its great location, history, art, and unexpected culinary delights, Castelo Branco is far more than a stopover—it's a destination.Guest review byaranfdoPortugal - 10.0

I was here for work, but added a day to go hiking in the Gardunha mountains. Good hiking trails, with good signposts. The tourism office offers brochures in English. I like the scale of the city: small & calm, but with a good variety of shops, bars & restaurants.Guest review byKathy BelpaemeBelgium - 10.0

This is a hotel with a gorgeous view and with staff that are first class. I stayed here before, when it was a proper Pousada but losing that status has not lowered its standards. The restaurant staff were excellent, the food was OKGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It was an amazing place steeped in history! The walk to the castle is a must as there are beautiful views at every turn. You will find yourself awestruck trying to fathom how it was possible to create a town amongst the boulders. It’s truly an amazing and magical place.Guest review byWendy HolkestadCanada - 8.0

Well we enjoyed Vila do Rei because it was calm, small pace, friendly people and great for walks in nature. I recomend the Centro Geodesico and the river beach of Penedo Furado are a must visit. The views are beautiful and give you a glimpse of nature’s colors at it’s finest.Guest review byRobertoPortugal - 8.0
Unhais da Serra is a very small town.
Unhais da Serra is a very small town. It has one outstanding restaurant - As Thermas and another couple of ones that are good options as well. A couple of local shops that carry the delicious cheeses, charcuterie and liquors made in Serra da Estrela. We always stop to replenish or stock - we prefer the tiny mini-market, but the fancier shop has sweatshirts, slippers and interesting items as well. It's the perfect get-away for rest and relaxation. We park the car at the H2otel and do walking to everywhere we need to go over the weekend. I'd say a 3-4 night stay is ideal.Guest review byjennie0901Portugal - 10.0
