Boasting panoramic views over the Clyde to the Isle of Arran, and only 5-minutes’ walk from Ayr town center, the hotel presents itself as the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of Ayrshire.

Although the room was small, it did accommodate 3 single beds for the three of us traveling. It was nice to have a walk-in shower. Great view of the sea and sunset from the dining room. Ability to choose a cooked breakfast (vs buffet) was also a welcome benefit.
Close to Ayr seafront and a few yards from the town center, Mercure Ayr is a comfy hotel with gym. Free WiFi is available throughout. The Brasserie Bar and Restaurant serves drinks, snacks and meals.

What great luck to have booked Barns for our stay in Ayr! Our room and bath were comfortable and spotless - but the highlight was the gorgeously equipped kitchen and the pleasant dining room. We had a lovely evening taking a break from pub food and takeaways, enjoying our own supper - and breakfast!

Ayr is a good tourist spot ( the beach, Pirate Pete’s, Haven Craig Tara holiday park, heads of Ayr farm park) and a neat community. The people are friendly, bus drivers are nice, cheap and good transportation system. I really enjoyed my trip.

Ayr town has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurant's with an attractive beach nearby. Head south on a wonderful coastal drive passing coastal villages, castles and sea views. National Trust's Culzean Castle is magnificent and well worth a visit.
Of course Robert Burns was born in Alloway just a short drive from town centre so visit his cottage and the visitor centre.

As we were only staying one night, we unfortunately didnt get to see Ayr, and what it has to offer.
But we would love to return, and stay longer, so we could enjoy some of the surrounding activities, and historical sites.

A slightly run down town that I believe is undergoing some investment which will be great for the area. Some parts are super and have some good upmarket bars and restaurants- The Drunken Coo was great for food. Be good to revisit to see it have a boost.
We had a great stay at the Horizon Hotel. we were in a loft room which was fine we just got a wee bit lost trying to locate our room after a few refreshments lol. staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good too. would definitely recommend and we would return. the outlook is stunning too, right on the beach and we had a lovely sea view.
the outdoor seating bit was fab too and we were very lucky with the weather.
The Savoy Park Hotel is a beautiful hotel in a good location close to town. The staff are helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely, very spacious, with a sofa and table and a big bathroom. Seperate bath and shower, great water pressure with lots of hot water. Very comfy bed and pillows. The downstairs bar area and dining room are authentic and welcoming. The breakfast was great.
I've stayed here a few times before and it just feels warm and welcoming unlike a hotel. The owner, Margaret, is lovely and incredibly helpful.
