Spacious, clean room with a great view. Mary was very accommodating, friendly, helpful and had great information about the area. It was peaceful, quiet and the stargazing was awesome. One of our favorite places we stayed while visiting New Zealand.

If we could give a higher rating, we would. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at. Super warm and homey with an incredibly tranquil view. Delicious breakfast and an ultra clean room.

The host was accommodating to my last-minute booking and late arrival. The property is immaculate and wonderfully located for visiting Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. My only regret is that I couldn't stay to enjoy it longer or especially on a moonless night for night sky viewing!
This property offers access to a patio, tennis at the tennis court, free private parking, and free Wifi. The accommodation features private check-in and check-out and bicycle parking for guests.

It is a lovely place to relax and unwind, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. We could enjoy the privacy of our own cottage, which features a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living area, and cozy bedrooms.

Twizel is a great base for all the wonderful activities the region has to offer--dark skies, Alps to Ocean, Āoraki, incredible lakes, hot springs, hiking. A lot of very good restaurants with something for all tastes. Two or more grocery stores, with great wine selections and customer service. Great outfitters for biking.

We have been here a few times now and love it.
We have been here a few times now and love it. It is the gateway to Mt Cook - we have done a heli hike, some wonderful walks and tramps, taken in the rivers and lakes, soaked in the hot tubs, eaten at local restaurants, shopped in the local stores, star gazed .... the list goes on.
The locals are super friendly - Twizel is just down the road from Tekapo but is nowhere near as busy or commercial. Accessible from Christchurch or Queenstown - you can fly into one, rent a car and fly out from the other, or just do a round trip. We will be back !!

Restaurants and cafes very busy and some were closed.
Restaurants and cafes very busy and some were closed. Since it was Easter Sunday and the finish of Warbirds Airshow, we had difficulty finding somewhere to have dinner and certainly no place for breakfast.

Twizel is a small town but growing, with new housing areas on the edge of town and spreading out from there. It is mainly a holiday town but has a core of permanent residents.
It has a nice wee shopping area, good restaurants and is handy to the other lakes in the area and to a ski field in winter. It also gives easy access to Aoraki Mt Cook and the Waitaki Valley.

Cute town.
Cute town. It has what one needs to enjoy the getaway—groceries, pharmacy, gas, some clothing stores. And, most importantly, nice people who—in spite of the numbers of tourists who are in and out of town—are kind and helpful. Thank you, Twizel!

Nice little place with easy access by car to several lakes and the Hooker Valley walk. Nice river walk with views to Mt Cook.
Twizel has few tourists that we saw and has a very different feel to it than Tekapo, which we didn’t like at all.
We didn’t eat out in Twizel, but we did see a few restaurants, we cooked at the house as had great facilities there.
Good supermarkets.
Pukaki Air Lodge is in a great location, close to Twizel town centre and Lake Pukaki. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and possibly have the best shower I've used in a hotel/lodge. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a full kitchen available for guests to use, alongside coffee/tea in room. Having breakfast included was a great bonus!
With views straight out onto the airstrip and great views of Mt Cook, I feel like it would be hard to find somewhere as beautiful to stay.
A spacious, comfortable and modern room that felt nice and private. Everything was clean, tidy and there's a handy folder with recommendations of local walks / things to do. It's a good location, an easy walk to various bars / restaurants and parking was simple. There's a small car park (accommodating around 3 cars) for the hotel but you're down a quiet side street so there's plenty of roadside parking also.
Very comfortable and spacious holiday house. All amenities are there including a big fridge / freezer, big laundry machine (can do a hot laundry) and even a vacuum cleaner. Twizel is not a very interesting town but it is close to many interesting spots including Mt. Cook of course. We had some minor issues with the carbage but the staff reacted very quickly and adequately on that.
It was a fantastic stay! The cabin was even better than we imagined! It was a proper, spacious room. The bathroom was good, clean kitchen and all the necessary kitchen stuff. The sound insulation was also good, so the sound of life of the holiday park was always outside the room.
The location was very convenient for traveling to Mt. Cook National Park. The wide open space was nice too, especially since it's in the dark sky reserve. No food options immediately nearby, but it's not far from Twizel.
I have been on a road trip for the past 8 days with 7 different hotel accommodations. Thus far, the "Townhouse Feel in Irishman" has been the only one deserving a "Perfect 10." I highly recommend this accommodation.
Modern and clean house in Twizel. There is a skylight in the main bedroom for star viewing, which would have been awesome if we had a clear night. Kitchen was spacious and the bathroom had a great shower!
It's walking distance to the township & the hotel where our convention was held. No worries about walking home at night.
Twizel isn't too far to visit the salmon farm or Aoraki (Mt Cook)
A wonderful motel for three or more people having two bedrooms.
Bathroom shower was amazing. Will stay again due to a wonderful motel and friendly people, both staff and fellow guests.
The facilities were clean and the rooms were comfortable. The motel is in a good location in town and close to Mount Cook National Park, making a day trip there the perfect distance away
The location in central Twizel was fantastic. Easy walk to everything you need. Grocery, Bakery, Restaurants etc. The hotel grounds were fantastic. Nice table right outside the room
Extremely accommodating and helpful as it was a busy time of year and our other booking fell through with a different hotel, awesome to deal with and good size rooms
