it is a lovely small town with good eateries. the upgrade to the road along the front has made a great difference. at least two of the pubs have outside seating, looking down the loch. lovely way to spend a sunny evening. IT WAS A PITY WE STAYED SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY AS WE STRUGGLED TO GET A CAFE ON SUNDAY THAT SERVED BREAKFAST EVEN THOUGH IT WAS STILL EARLY MORNING PLENTY OF PEOPLE CATCHING THE FERRY OVER TO THE ISLANDS AND THE FEW LOCALS WE SPOKE TO ON SATURDAY NIGHT WERE PLEASANT AND INVITING AND ACCEPTED OUR HUMOUR AND QUESTIONS ON EQUAL FOOTING AND FOR THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE STAYING OR AT LEAST VISITING ULLAPOOL TO COME AND SEE FOR THEMSELVES HOW SCENIC AND ENJOYABLE ULLAPOOL IS FOR THOSE VISITINGGuest review byIANUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Quaint town, beautiful scenery, friendly locals, great atmosphere in the town. I didn’t realise they had a hostel for travellers, that looked lovely and smack in the centre of town. I could have stayed longer. Will definitely return and explore more I ate at the hotel but in town there were other places to eat, next time I’ll try them. Views over the water just stunning. It’s such a peaceful place. Ullapool is a great place, and there are plenty of things to do. It's compact, so you don't have to worry about going in the car. Lots of place's accessible on foot. We had a room that overlooked the Loch with a large comfortable bed and shower room. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and the food was excellent.
