Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

    Dublin is a beautiful city.

Dublin is a beautiful city. There is so much to do and we definitely didn’t spend enough time here. We used transport links such as the airport - city bus & trams. We also did a lot of walking. The best factor has to be the 24hr spa shop for that midnight snack! We spent two nights here but i think 5-6 would be a better amount. Just remember to bring a heavy wallet, OR find the little pubs/restaurants on the outskirts of town. Much better value for money!

Love the historic side but not as much the commercial side, but that's a city for you. EPIC museum was well done and so worth the time - the connections and information provided was priceless. Lots of varieties for eating preferences at reasonable prices. In Stitches Comedy was a blast!! We walked everywhere and never felt unsafe. Ruby Molly was a fabulous place to stay!

The city is a tourist trap overwhelmingly catering to wealthy, rude (and at times ignorant) American tourists. Temple Bar is to be avoided at all costs, and restaurants offer poor value for money with low quality produce and substandard meals at excessive prices. I would not return to the city. Four nights was far too long. Cork seemed to be a nice city, possibly away from the tourist trap of Dublin, so if I were to return to the Republic of Ireland it would be elsewhere within the country. Native Dubliners are focused solely on money - they have that in common with the Americans to whom they are utterly sycophantic.

Really nice city with lots to do and lots of culture.

Really nice city with lots to do and lots of culture. Tram line going into the centre was really convenient. It was relatively clean and tidy. People were amazing. Transport routes and services were great. The city is quite expensive so expect to spend more than usual. Recommend Stoneybatter Place if you are staying for a short trip, excellent location and accomodation.

We stayed at Motel One which was walking distance to everything. We absolutely loved the Guinness Tour, the Jamison Tour and the tour of Kilmainham Gaol. Howth is a short train ride away on the Dart. Amazing views and nice cliff walk on the trail. We also did the Hop on Hop off bus, day and night tours. I preferred the night tour. The Church Bar was beautiful and the portal to other cities was cool and fun. Although the locals warned us about the prices in Temple Bar area, it is an area that I really enjoyed as a tourist. Music and atmosphere in every pub. I'm now a Guinness and Jamison fan!

Great stay in a cosy district. Clean hotel, fancy terrace on rooftop and much more. You can cook in big shared kitchens if yours in the apartment is too small for you. You can also enjoy the time in a living room located on each floor. Very kind and communicative personnel, and a good, cheap connection to city centre. Nothing more is required. I recommend this place for everyone visiting Dublin.

    - location was perfect, literally in the city centre of Dublin - room was spotless clean, very modern, we had beautiful view for the cathedral - considering it was city centre, the area around the hotel wasn’t noisy or dangerous, maybe we just got lucky - receptionists were very friendly - breakfast wasn’t big, but I think everyone could find something for themselves
