Very clean, immaculately decorated, beds comfy, was about 25/30 min walk into Cheddar for pubs/shops which was doable and felt like a ‘safe’ walk home late at night.
Adjacent to The Langford Inn are bedrooms with attached bathroom housed in 2 converted 17th-century barns with exposed beams, original brickwork, oak floors and luxuries for modern living.

I was warmly greeted and shown to my room. The room is absolutely lovely. They provided many extras. I had Prosecco and an IPA waiting for me when I arrived. The bed is fabulous. The shower was good water pressure and very warm. The linens were very plush and towels huge. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate provided. I ate dinner there and had a wonderful dining experience. Andrew fixed me a bag of food items for the early departure since I would miss breakfast. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. I would caution that if you’re a very light sleeper, there are some sounds that might wake you. The cars leaving might be the loudest but they are gone, but I was there when a very large dinner party was happening. I will definitely go there again. It was only a 10 minute drive (easy drive for an American) back to the car rental return. Then a bus to the airport.

Cheddar village itself is nothing special but the Gorge and the caves are a must see. Also buy some real cheddar cheese at the foot of the gorge.
It is also within easy reach of some excellent spots such as the city of Wells and Glastonbury.

Cheddar Village is lovely. Nice pubs, Café and gift shops.
Cheddar Village is lovely. Nice pubs, Café and gift shops. Can get quite busy at weekends. We stayed close enough to walk there. Surrounding places to visit include Glastonbury and Wells.
Walked the Gorge, Which is quite tough in places. There is a free route and you can come down Jacob’s ladder free of charge. (You pay to walk up it)
There are other flatter walks suitable for older people and children. Felt that the entry fee to the caves was very high £25 each.

Cheddar Gorge is very impressive.
Cheddar Gorge is very impressive. We had rather bad weather so wwren't able to walk along the top, which I imagine would be lovely on a good day. Gough's cave is worth visiting - and you get to see the cheese stored there. Cox' s cave is more of a new age experience with lights and sounds etc. Actually I think that it would have been rather intersting ib it's natural state!

Very interesting area, lots to see and do but the attractions all seemed very expensive. The gorge is really impressive though, Plenty of cafes and restaurants, we had a few good pub meals and lovely ice cream. Staff at the Riverside Inn were very helpful with providing gluten free food. Spent a nice day at the Chew Valley lakes where there is a gluten free chip shop (a rarity!).
Lovely countryside, however, it was very busy. The noisy bikes and cars whizzing around at over the speed limit spoiled it a bit for us. It was quite dangerous walking along the gorge in some places.

Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon.
Cheddar Gorge is a fantastic natural phenomenon. Exploring the caves is an absolute must and you are given a Wi-Fi device to use for an audio explanation as to how the caves were formed.
Jacobs Ladder isn’t for the faint hearted, 274 steps in all but once at the top a short climb up the viewing tower is a must, amazing view all round.
We walked along the path at the top of the gorge which just keeps giving more and more spectacular photo opportunities.
I would recommend you go earlier in the morning to ensure you get a parking place as during the later part of the morning everything seemed to be very busy .
Plenty of little cafes and quaint tea rooms to check out but beware of the prices !!
Stayed in one of the static caravans. Lovely location with parking right outside the door, patio doors onto decking overlooking the river. Very comfy bed, good size open plan lounge/diner area with nice big sofas and a decent TV. Quite well equipped, most of things we needed to cook were provided. A welcome pack with information about the area would have been nice though. No towels provided but gave us some when we asked.
Great location in a small adult only ,well maintained site. friendly and helpful staff . Hard stand dedicated parking next to the static and a view of the small stream from the 'lounge'. Good facilities in the static, in fact we felt very comfortable in all areas.
The site is very close to Cheddar and to the Gorge as well as having easy access to nearby towns. we were able to do walks from the doorstep, great.
Brilliant welcome on arrival, we couldn't check in until late due to traffic on route and this was not a problem at all for the owners who made us feel very welcome. Rooms were very clean and breakfast included was superb. Great location in cheddar and very close to a few restaurants and pubs. Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone to book a stay here if your visiting the area.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Bath Arms before Christmas. The hotel restaurant and pub area are so inviting: two fires going, lovely decorations and fine food and beverages. The community support for the restaurant is obvious, and the staff are helpful and conversational. Comfortable beds, nice toiletries and parking is easy, behind the hotel. Can't wait to come back.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Cheddar Woods and we were pleasantly surprised not only by the quiet location of the resort but also by the size and quality of the lodge. Upon our arrival, the weather wasn't at its best with gail forced wind and plenty of rain. However, as soon as we stepped into the lodge we couldn't hear anything of the storm anymore.
Fantastic setting, very picturesque with the nearby stream and abundance of hanging flowers. Only a 5 minute walk into Cheddar . Great hosts who are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. All the amenities you could want during your stay. Stayed here whilst working in the area. Would definitely come back for a short break. Highly recommend.
The property was lovely. It is close to the gorge and within walking distance of a number of good restaurants. Our room was well decorated and had a nice big window overlooking the pool and gorgeous landscaping. The breakfast was delicious and they were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Everyone was welcoming and great to work with.
The Stables were a fabulous place to stay. Everything you could wish for and need...a real home from home. A great location too, being only 10 mins or so to Cheddar and 20 mins or so to Wells (both great days out). Hosts were lovely and we'd definitely recommend everyone to stay there.
Comfortable bed, warm cottage, beautifully furnished, well equipped, parking off road behind accommodation, hosts are on hand and available for any help needed.Quiet at night.Use of garden should you wish to,near pubs short stroll away and Cheddar village further on.Everything we needed.
Friendly welcome, made to feel at home. Tailor made breakfast personally delivered to the accommodation.
8 minute walk to Cheddar village so able to avoid excessive parking charges in the gorge itself.
Room was clean and modern. All facilities we needed.
All was great with Red Rose Cottage, we highly recommend. Booking .com was okay on this booking but be wary as the last time we booked with them the Hotel was full and we had to return home, to date they have offered no compensation.
Lovely little place, super close to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Really warm and cosy. Most comfortable bed and pillows I've had in an accommodation ever. The host was lovely, helpful and friendly.
Thank you for a lovely stay! The caravan is super modern and comfortable with pretty views of the fields and trees around. We visited Wookey Hole and did a walk at Cheddar Gorge.
Excellent accommodation in walking distance to cheddar gorge and local amenities. Lyn was a great host, very responsive and flexible. Fantastic breakfast in the morning.
Very clean, immaculately decorated, beds comfy, was about 25/30 min walk into Cheddar for pubs/shops which was doable and felt like a ‘safe’ walk home late at night.
The B&B was absolutely spotless and the cleanest B&B/Hotel that I have ever seen.
The staff were very polite and well mannered. The best that I have ever seen.
