Paignton sea front was too busy for me but the actual town and the outskirts of the town have everything you need. Travelling to all the other towns and villages was very easy and paignton is a great base. The beaches around the coves are amazing.broadstones beach is stunning. All i will say is be prepared to pay everywhere to park even the beaches make sure you carry cash for the toilets too.

We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre.

We stayed about 30 min walk from Paignton centre. Did go into Paignton. Quite busy on the seafront. The pier is mainly a big arcade. We couldn't access to the end of the pier when we went . Didn't go into the shopping centre. We did get a Chinese take away from Rickshaw Boy and ate it in the car overlooking the sea ( made a change to fish and chips) We spent the day at the Zoo which was well worth it. Saw baby orangutan amongst other animals. We went to Totnes which is a quirky place full of boutique shops, cafes and had a lovely feel about it.

Paignton has a lovely long beach and is very safe for families ,but the tide comes up to the promenade in places, it is easy to get onto the beach, not completely sandy but still able to make sandcastles. there is lots of activities too crazy golf, kids rollercoaster etc. we ate at the hotel but there are a lot of restuarants to choose from. an awful lot of amusement arcades there. it is flat to walk around, but not too many shops around

The pier and the harbour was great, the side streets with arcades and gift shops and town looked run down and dirty nothing like it used to look years ago. Paignton has changed so much and not for the better.

Paignton is your typical bucket and spade family holiday with amusement arcades and lots of places to eat. Wonderful beach and promenade with pier. There are many other small beaches within walking distance along the coast path including goodrington sands. Excellent transport links for trips to Brixham and Torquay plus the famous zoo.

It was right on the seafront with parking . It was comfortable, relaxing and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The dinner service ran like clockwork with enough staff to feel 5* at a 2* small seaside Paignton hotel . The meal was very tasty and 3 courses which I didn’t expect. The room , even though it was dated and not very big , was perfect and had windows onto the side park and the view over the sea . The beds were very comfortable and not soft .

I went here in off season so the hotel was not very busy. It was no problem to stay one night longer and even cheaper (for that you should call the hotel and not book via booking.com). Everything is very clean and you have even a kettle with coffee and tea ind the room which I found very helpful since I am usually with a tent and camping gas. The beach and city centre are very close. The host was very helpful, considerate and I liked to chat with her.

Of all hotels that are a similar rate, this is the most modern and inviting to look at. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas and gave such a warm inviting feel. The room was a great size and the bed was enormous and comfortable. Overall the best Mercure hotel i’ve ever stayed at and will be returning on our next visit to Devon. The staff were attentive and friendly, particularly a lady called Sarah. She makes fantastic cocktails too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our break from start to finish, will recommend to friends and look forward to going back again ourselves. Outstanding sea view from the dining room and large sun terrace. The hotel is slightly dated, but you can clearly see that from photos before you book. We found all staff to be extremely courteous and friendly. The cost of our stay seemed very reasonable after researching similar hotels, in Devon, prior to booking.

Pauline & Phil are lovely hosts and went out of the way to make sure I could arrive and park up early. Also let me put my luggage etc. in the room. I was visiting to celebrate a family birthday and needed to be earlier than checking in time. The rooms were immaculate the breakfast excellent and their cordaility was really good. The views are outstanding and only a short walk to Paignton town. All in all a brief but excellent experience.

The hosts left us a little welcome pack, the cottage was immaculate and nothing was too much trouble if needed any questions answering. The cottage is literally a 10 minute stroll from Paignton station, the beach and town centre. There is a car park a one minute walk away and you can buy 4/8 or monthly passes from the council or pay £8.50 per 24 hours. Would definitely stay here again as brilliant location to travel around the Devon coast

The Channel View hotel was delightful. From our welcome to the very end. The rooms were to an extremely high standard and it felt as if we were the first to stay in them. The sea view was to die for. Hosts Peter and Ruth were magnificent. Their personal approach, friendly nature and general hospitality made it a perfect stay. We have certainly found our No1 hotel and will certainly be booking this every time we visit this part of Devon

Nothing. The place was not as described. We had to leave and find somewhere else to stay. (The Queens Hotel, Paignton as it happens, which was fine). I am not particularly fussy when it comes to hotels, but The Parkers Arms was by far the worst place I've seen. I've been regularly booking hotels with Booking.com for around 15 years, and never left a bad review until now. I'm amazed Booking.com allow them on the platform TBH.

Lovely little hotel and very close to Paignton seafront. Was made to feel Very Welcome . Hosts made sure I had everything I needed and nothing was too much trouble. I opted for room only this time , little cheaper than B&B rate , good to have the choice. Room was cleaned every day and tea, coffee milks were topped up which was nice not having to ask for extra when they ran low.
