Long sandy beach, albeit around half is accessible to dogs all year round, whilst the other half does prohibit them for the summer. Judging by the beach shops, surfing is a popular pastime, plus fishing boats and trips from the Marina Plenty of pubs, restaurants and a nice town 'square' The Strand and The Parade. Generally Exmouth is quite a quiet town, fairly flat and compact, so walking is easy, especially along the long Esplanade. I think Exmouth needs more to facilitate bad weather days.It was definitely lacking for children's indoor activities.For instance the arcade was extremely non plus! A lot of the machines, not that there were many,did not work.Neither fid the change machines nor ticket prize machines work.....disappointing on that front.Too many charity shops in the town.A few nice ones.Had the weather have been kinder the beach would have been great.We were warned of the polluted sea though...in any case we never got that chance.Nevermind.The house we stayed in was brilliant in Halesdon avenueGuest review byMariaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Reasonable walk to the beach but quite a way from the town although it’s on a bus route. Town ordinary but pleasant. Exmouth a good centre for there are boat trips, buses to Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth as well as to Exeter. Train station in the town with trains to Exeterand to the other side of the estuary, like Dawlish, Teignmouth and even Torquay. The harbour area and sea-front as well as Manor Gardens are attractive. There are other park areas to the east of the town which I didn't explore. Transport links are good with a train service to Exeter, The M5 motorway around 25 minutes away. The leisure centre is well-equipped and has a wide range of classes. Exmouth was a relaxing, family-friendly, destination. We explored the beach and strolling through the town centre. The National Trust properties nearby were nice.
