FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

The castle was great and there are many superb buildings to see. We went for a week but to be honest a long weekend would have been enough and we walk miles every day and were retracing our steps qquite a lot.

Prague was a wonderful city to visit.Full of interesting Architecture, fun shops and very good restaurants. We booked several free tours as well as exploring the city ourselves. We used public transport but most things were within a 20 minute walk from our hotel. Essential to wear good trainers or walking shoes as the cobbled streets can be tough on the feet.

Prague is a stunning city. The buildings are amazing. The walking tours are great. It was easy to get around the city on the Trams. A lot of great restaurants. An amazing city for art and music. The classical concerts in the churches are brilliant.

We loved the city and people.

We loved the city and people. Did a walking tour with guide which was very helpful to learn about the city, etc. We did the Communism/Bunker Tour which was fascinating. As Americans, we wanted to learn as much as possible and our guide was great. She provided history of the communism era and ending of that regime as well as insight into current climate of the city/country. Highly recommend to travelers interested in learning things for yourselves as we are not taught much in our country of the history. Our guides were very forthright in presenting things to us as fact or some as speculation.

Second time I've been to Prague and would go back again. An easy city to navigate ans not too far from the airport. Wonderful city with so much to see and do. Grear food, drinks and culture. This time we visited with our young children and there was plenty to keep them occupied. We enjoyed wandering round and seeing the sights but also going to less touristy places frequented by locals such as a local swimming lake and leisure centre. Everywhere is very reasonably priced. It was very busy when we visited this time but it was the height of summer and there were a lot of tourists in the centre, near the bridge and old town.

Prague is a beautiful city with many sights to see.

Prague is a beautiful city with many sights to see. However, it can become quite busy in the high-season especially around Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. It can become so busy that it isn't fun anymore. I also find that the food is expensive in the tourist spots and a lack of water fountains therefore forcing visitors to buy over priced water at the numerous "souvenir" shops. But do try the Czech potato dumplings, they are great or maybe I just like dumplings/potatoes. The most surprising location that I thoroughly enjoyed was the national museum. The two highlights in there was the 20th century History exhibit, especially the touch screen in the politics section that can be used as 20th century Czech history 101 course. The amount of information I gleaned from that. And the other part being the natural history section. A) A section on Lichens is a major plus. B) Furthermore I found the information and the explanation of the diversity of species was excellent. Usually a natural history exhibit just display animals but doesn't discuss the phylogenetic trees and comparative physiology especially to such a degree. I can't remember the last time I went to a natural history exhibit that discused lanclets and tunicates. Other fun things is to tour behind the clock in the old town hall, or do a guide tour through the old city.
