The location by the Royal Mile was great. The room was basic but fine, the paid breakfast was good. Any questions or concerns I had were immediately answered or taken care of(coffee packets, toilet paper). Staff was extremely responsive and helpful.

The windows opened & we loved having some fresh air. Room was good-sized & bed was comfy. Overpriced, but then the dollar /pound rate sucked when we were there. We are not breakfast eaters so can't comment on the dining room. Great location.

Check-in was easy with instructions on room location, breakfast, and we were offered a complimentary welcome drink. After heading to our room on the second floor, via elevator, we then broke out into the city for some touring. The Grassmarket Hotel is centrally located, within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, walking tours, and historical sites. Upon checkout, it was easy to book a cab to the airport, and there was nothing left to do but hand over the room key—a special shout out to Amy at reception.

Great female only dorm. Clean, safe. There was short term luggage storage in the main area as well as long term storage in a locked room for 5 pounds a night. Very accomodating!
