we were nervous after we booked because we read so many bad reviews. Had it been refundable, we would’ve cancelled. HOWEVER- I’m so happy we went. This was a 10/10 vacation for us. the location was amazing, the beaches were pristine, so many cool fish/turtle/stingray sightings from the pier. The facilities were clean, and our Villa was so comfortable and cozy! The food was great, and there’s a little ice cream counter on site which makes every vaca better! we did not partake in any activities, but still never got bored. We loved long walks on the beach, grabbing lunch at the beach cafe and watching wildlife from the pier.

The accessibility to the convention center was absolutely outstanding. There is a direct passage from inside the hotel to the third floor of the convention center, which was incredibly convenient. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and it’s easy to walk to many parts of Brisbane from the hotel, so the location is truly excellent. The staff were all very friendly, the room was clean, and everything worked perfectly.

The beach shack was perfect! It has everything you need for a nice and relaxing getaway. The bed was super comfortable. The location is great, you are close to point lookout (by car, although I think there is public transport as well) and there is access to a beach just crossing the road. I would definitely recommend and stay again!

We enjoyed walking through South Bank and across the Neville Bonner Bridge to Star Casino. We enjoyed going to the viewing platform at the casino and sitting watching the sunset. We enjoyed our walk through the city and seeing the new and old architecture. There are lots of restaurants and cafes. The train from the airport was easy to use and took us directly to South Brisbane Station. The bus took us directly from South Brisbane to the Gabba.

Ipswich is steeped in History, being the original choice for the Capital of the new State of Queensland in 1859. The depth of the Bremer River was seen as an impediment for shipping, so Brisbane became the Capital. Queens Park is an Oasis in the centre of the City and includes an animal enclosure with a walk through, fu;; flight Aviary. The City has a proud Rail and Coal Mining past. The Ipswich Rail Museum should be on any visitors itinerary.

A beautiful spot. Love the walks and beaches. Everybody on the island is welcoming. We did luck out with food one night as we left it till after 6.30 pm and the one place we went to was fully booked. We had no car either so had to make sandwiches. Would be nicer if there were more takeaway/food truck options.

Be prepared for the fact that the breakfast is in a cafe attached to the Hotel, there is no buffet breakfast. The Cafe is very pleasant, overlooking the water. Have a good map of the North Lakes precinct or be familiar with the maze of very narrow, very busy roads that you will need to negotiate.
