Asheville is a beautiful area to visit!

Asheville is a beautiful area to visit! The BIltmore Estate was a fantastic place to visit, including the exhibition about King Tut as well as the winery. and the Gardens. Getting around Asheville is easy, if you have your own transportation. We attempted to drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, but unfortunately we ran into closed roads due to construction going both North and South. Be sure to check before you head out.

Our visit to Asheville was mostly on the west end in July. Wish we had done more research ahead of time. The local restaurants on Haywood Rd are small, artsy, bistros. Lots of murals to see. Parking is horrible. Older section of town. Traffic was busy but it moved quickly. We toured the Biltmore. Note- take the shuttle from parking lots, it will save some steps.

Walkable town full of art, music, eateries with vegan options, and eclectic shops. I loved the drum circle Friday night. We took the hilarious ghosted bus tour, visited Biltmore, hiked the Graveyard Fields and Falls, visited NC Arboretum and the must see Omni Grove Park Inn where we saw a bear! Thank you for the wonderful southern hospitality experience!

I was very sad to see the level of devastation but was hopeful with the people. The people often were able to share their perceptions of the Hurricane Helene and the devastation. It was very difficult to determine what nature trails were open.

Asheville reminds me of a combination of Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. Very creative city, friendly people, and a great art district. The cafes I went to were excellent, and a very walkable city. I was there for a wedding, so a short and sweet trip.

We only had a two night stay but the suites were good size and had all the conveniences for a longer stay. It was clean, comfortable beds and a great friendly staff. The real gem was the Azalea restaurant. Excellent chef, wonderful bartenders/waitstaff. They need to market this more as the food was amazing. They serve breakfast only on week-ends but dinner every night. Hotel location is close to the Biltmore and not far from downtown Asheville. We were a group of four and definitely would stay there again.

Asheville is not the cheapest town to stay in, but they charged us a quite low rate in August 2023 - and the accomodation itself is alright, nothing to complain about
