Loved the views around Blenheim.
Loved the views around Blenheim. Beautiful walks and stunning weather on autumn days. Only went to one vineyard and the food was divine ( wither hills) . Will be back to try more!! Omaka Aerodrome is stunning - I wasn't that keen as airplanes are not my deal but it was a terrific display - showcasing the skills of weta workshop! Great small town.
Great small town. Lots of character with a range of restaurants. Crucially it sits at the heart of Marlborough wine growing region. We did a half day wine tour and loved. The cottages are private, stylish, cosy and comfortable, enclaved by colourful cottage gardens and beautiful bird song. A pot belly fire warms the soul as does a glass of premium Marlborough wine. The animals are a delight. Sharon and Jason are lovely hosts, with great communication and by the end of our stay we felt like family. Rather than an apartment, we stayed at the Hotel D’Urville in the town centre which was OK; compact room, not modern, a little tired. Maybe would have been better to find accommodation on a vineyard but not many have restaurants on site which, given the more remote locations, is preferable. Unlike many other accommodations - there was plenty shelf space in the bathroom. It was very useful to have dinner at the Japanese restaurant in the hotel as we stayed there on Good Friday and most of Blenheim was closed, especially at night.
