There is so much to see that is really close as well as the big sites like Pompeii. We enjoyed visiting the gardens of Cimborne & Rufolo. A walk up to the Valle de Ferriere is a cool green oasis steeped in history away from most tourists. Having traveled to the larger cities of Italy, the pace is definitely slower in Ravello, but there are tourists everywhere. Getting to Ravello is difficult. The road is curve after curve. Lots of good vantage spots of the sea. Villa Cimbrone is worth the walk.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

For us by far the best town on the Amalfi coast. Not too crowded (May) with plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. Tourist shops but not overly commercial like other coast towns and ports. The view is one of the hero views in Ravello - which is already famous for its views. The villa is stunning - we had the huge Icarus room. We were unable to get into our preferred hotel so I chose this, hoping it would be as good, and it was indeed exceptional. Gorgeous gardens with lemon groves feels like you have an entire villa to yourself. Clean room and short walk into Ravello. Martina was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. We arrived early as we wanted to avoid the traffic and Martina arranged for a place for us to park and offered us some fresh breakfast.
