Paignton is always near the top of a list of my favourite...
Paignton is always near the top of a list of my favourite holiday destinations. Although Devon is hilly, Paignton is quite flat. It is also very compact whith the beach, the town and all the attractions close to each other. It is easy to get around. I particulary enjoy boat trips from Paignton harbour. There are various trips available and there is a ferry service between Paignton and nearby Torquay and Brixham. There are lots of places to eat in Paignton itself and elsewhere in the Torbay area. Travelling around is a joy. I left my car at the guest house all week and travelled by boat, bus and train (including a steam train). Paignton is super if you have a dog. Dogs are welcome everywhere and bowls of water are to be found outside many shops, pubs and elsewhere as a matter of course. Dogs are allowed on at least part of some of the local beaches (though not Paignton beach itself). My pooch had the time of her life!Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Loved it! Paignton festival was on (unplanned) there were some amazing tribute acts and we wish we could have stayed the whole 3 weeks! Great pubs, £1.79 a pint in Wetherspoons ‘talk of the town’ which was unbelievable! Amazing beaches, carnival, shops, casinos, restaurants. Paignton was ok, its pretty small with some nice eateries and the arcade on the pier. Regeneration is going on with the addition of two new modern hotels nearby. We went to Torquay for the day (4 minutes by train) and there was a lot more happening there.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom
