Nice charming room, a super grand Onsen play pool, nice outdoor Onsen with all naked people after bathing. Breakfast was super! Front desk staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. Overall, it is a wonderland for all tourists.

The owner picked us up from a light up event because there was no bus connection so late at night. Saved us quite a lot of walking. Great value for money in a good location. The kitchen was well equipped as well.

My first time stayed at a Gassho housing B&B. But the hospitality the owners provided to me was exact level I would expect at any other Japanese B&B. Gokayama Ainokura is much quieter than Shirakara-go, where was over-crowded by foreign visitors around the world in addition to domestic tourists.

As Americans traveling in Japan, we had a great two-day stay at Morito-sha. A beautiful renovated building with an exceptionally helpful staff. Our room (the triple) was clean, modern, and air-conditioned. The floor futons were extremely comfortable and the cypress tub was a highlight. Close to great restaurants (sushi, izakaya, etc) and provided excellent traditional in-house Japanese breakfasts. Numerous walk-able shrines and temples nearby. The staff was quick to share history and recommendations for food and culture. No hesitation recommending it to anyone who will be in Nanto (Toyama).

Staying in this lovely old treasure of a house was one of the highlights of our trip. The hostess is lovely and welcoming. The beds and bath were comfortable. You have use of the kitchen and common rooms, so the stay is very convenient.

    It was the most beautiful Japanese experience during my first week in Japan. The food was very tasty each and every time. The room was so quiet and warm, we slept very well. The view on the mountains was breathtaking. I loved the onsen experience. In the first day we saw the Gasho house museum just across the road from the hotel, and on the second day took the bus, which stops just outside the hotel, to Shirakawa-go. It was perfect experience.

    The breakfast was superb! We had dietary restrictions which the hotel enquired about before and the meal they provided was so memorable and good. The location is in a very quiet neighbourhood. The apartment itself was so beautifully designed and curated - we thoroughly loved what they did to make an old building look so modern and tasteful. The staff were very helpful as well, we had a wonderful check-in experience.

    Location is of course quite remote, but this ensures a peaceful environment. Close to the temple, you can really wind down and relax. The hotel is very authentic and traditional in an old (but renovated) house. Personnel takes their time to explain and are very friendly. Super clean. Get up early and experience the monks chanting in the temple!
