The only thing that I was frustrated about was the signage...
The only thing that I was frustrated about was the signage for the location! My satnav directed me off to Gretna village via A75. The post code is obviously similar to properties there as the village is very close. (I had to ring reception for guidance). I attended for a wedding which was a lovely experience.
I attended for a wedding which was a lovely experience. Plenty of choice for overnight stays from hotels to B&B’s. There are restaurants to cafes to choose from for food. Plenty of parking. This claimed to be dog friendly but, although I clearly stated that I would have a dog with me, no mention of a charge for the dog was made UNTIL I CHECKED IN. A bit late then to change my mind and find somewhere else. If the extra charge for car parking and for the dog had been made clear at the time of booking I would have gone elsewhere. £15 extra for a little dog! Gretna Green is a lovely place to visit and it a short hop from Gretna Food Hall to Caledonia Park which covers tourism and some excellent retail therapy. Plenty of choice of where to have a snack or meal as well and plenty of toilets available in Caledonia Retail Park. Due to traffic, we ran quite late, so we checked in at the bar. The barman knew what was happening and gave clear directions to our room, we were also able to get a nice meal. This hotel is a wedding venue, being very close to Gretna Green, and there were a few weddings conducted while we were there. It has some very nice photo opportunities around the premises.
