Nice charming room, a super grand Onsen play pool, nice outdoor Onsen with all naked people after bathing. Breakfast was super! Front desk staff were so friendly and extremely helpful. Overall, it is a wonderland for all tourists.

The owner picked us up from a light up event because there was no bus connection so late at night. Saved us quite a lot of walking. Great value for money in a good location. The kitchen was well equipped as well.

My first time stayed at a Gassho housing B&B. But the hospitality the owners provided to me was exact level I would expect at any other Japanese B&B. Gokayama Ainokura is much quieter than Shirakara-go, where was over-crowded by foreign visitors around the world in addition to domestic tourists.

As Americans traveling in Japan, we had a great two-day stay at Morito-sha. A beautiful renovated building with an exceptionally helpful staff. Our room (the triple) was clean, modern, and air-conditioned. The floor futons were extremely comfortable and the cypress tub was a highlight. Close to great restaurants (sushi, izakaya, etc) and provided excellent traditional in-house Japanese breakfasts. Numerous walk-able shrines and temples nearby. The staff was quick to share history and recommendations for food and culture. No hesitation recommending it to anyone who will be in Nanto (Toyama).

Staying in this lovely old treasure of a house was one of the highlights of our trip. The hostess is lovely and welcoming. The beds and bath were comfortable. You have use of the kitchen and common rooms, so the stay is very convenient.

    Nostalgic and good room size. Separate dining on the same floor. Very traditional set up. It’s just us that we have knee issues, making getting up from Japanese seats challenging. If there’s a small table with normal height chair like another Ryokan we stayed with, would have been perfect. The lady who served us throughout the stay was helpful and friendly. When we were trying to locate the hotel after alighting the bus, she came out to receive us. By the way, the buses to and from Shirakawa-go stops right in front of the hotel.

    It's a wonderful small hotel. Very clean and a big pool and onsen. The only small issue we had was a bit hassle to drive to the property as the closest highway exit to the hotel only takes the ETC toll card option. Since our rental car does not have an etc toll card, we had to take a longer route (a few more km) from the next available exit and drove through the towns to finally get access to the hotel. If your car has an ETC toll card installed, then it's not a problem at all.

    The whole vibes of this family owned Ryokan was warm & welcoming! 😊 Stay at least 2 nights Onsen pipe linked to a bathtub Coming from TAKAYAMA by bus reach the bus terminal change to the Heritage bus tell the bus driver your Ryokan or hotel name they will alert you when reach.
