Ipswich is steeped in History, being the original choice for the Capital of the new State of Queensland in 1859. The depth of the Bremer River was seen as an impediment for shipping, so Brisbane became the Capital. Queens Park is an Oasis in the centre of the City and includes an animal enclosure with a walk through, fu;; flight Aviary. The City has a proud Rail and Coal Mining past. The Ipswich Rail Museum should be on any visitors itinerary.Guest review byCatherineAustralia - 8.0

A great location , it has everything you need if visiting Caboolture. The Australian zoo was a short scenic drive away. Shopping is easily accessible with plenty of underground parking around. The train is great and so handy, 50 cents to train into Brisbane & back! Trains seem to run often which is great.Guest review byKaaraNew Zealand - 10.0

A really fabulous location to enjoy the best of beach life and water activities.....kayaking, fishing etc. Very relaxed atmosphere and plenty of places to choose from for meals. It is also a good area to 'base' yourself for travel further afield for day trips as well as accessibility to Brisbane. Never tire of coming to the area.Guest review byWendyWAustralia - 8.0

Chatswood shopping centre had lots of places to eat, and Woolworths was a good place to shop. We drove to Wellington Park for a 21st birthday. You could also drive to the theme parks and Brisbane was not to far as well.Guest review byconnieAustralia - 10.0
A beautiful spot. Love the walks and beaches.
A beautiful spot. Love the walks and beaches. Everybody on the island is welcoming. We did luck out with food one night as we left it till after 6.30 pm and the one place we went to was fully booked. We had no car either so had to make sandwiches. Would be nicer if there were more takeaway/food truck options.Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 8.0

Be prepared for the fact that the breakfast is in a cafe attached to the Hotel, there is no buffet breakfast. The Cafe is very pleasant, overlooking the water. Have a good map of the North Lakes precinct or be familiar with the maze of very narrow, very busy roads that you will need to negotiate.Guest review byMaxAustralia - 2.0
