My family was absolutely delighted to get to stay in what we called “our castle for a night”. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. The convenience of a large modern bathroom was a bonus. The owners of this property are some of the sweetest people you will ever encounter. The fact that this property is so close to the ferry made catching the ferry in the morning a relaxed event.

Visited Short Stack. Great walk. Great food from a local fish and chips shop. The town was very walkable for basic needs. Heard there are at least two nice beaches. The people were very friendly. Several times I was asked if I needed help as I was walking.

As I was getting the ferry next day, an it was a lovely evening I was able to enjoy a lovely walk, however had the weather been cold/wet Holyhead does not appear to have much to offer to encourage longer stay

There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself.

There isn't a huge amount to do in Holyhead itself. A few nice walks around the coast. I don't have a car so next time I would stay closer inland in Anglesey to take advantage of more activities and places to see. I ended up taking a train to Bangor for a day. Rubens in the town centre is a very nice place for a coffee.

The surrounding area is stunning. Thousands of puffins at South Stack. But Holyhead itself has nothing to see. Amazing beaches and wild flowers and sand dunes a little further down the west coast road.

The breakfast was amazing and although they don’t do any other meals throughout the day they were happy for us to purchase fish and chips nearby and eat it in their breakfast room. They offered plates, cutlery, etc., and they couldn't have been more helpful. There was also several other takeaway nearby, Chinese, Indian, etc. it was the nearest hotel to the ferry port being just across the road. Our room was on the ground floor and was amazingly very quiet. The pub was very busy but we didn’t hear any noise in our room.

Check-in/out was really easy as it’s all self managed with lockboxes. you’re provided with a really helpful manual prior to your stay which includes information on the property, how to access the building and food options in the area. The hotel is literally a 2 minute drive from the ferry terminal so perfect for anyone with an early ferry to catch. The hotel is also very dog friendly and there is a dog friendly pub next door which serves pizza for anyone looking to dine out.

We stayed here for one night before catching the ferry to Ireland. The hotel was in a great location. Just ten minutes away from the port in a lovely little town. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming and the food in the resturant, for both dinner and breakfast, was all very nice with a great selection.
