Hamner Springs is a lovely place to visit, lots of little shops, very yummy bakery and a sweet shop for those who like lollies. We loved all the aspects of Hanmer Springs.
We loved all the aspects of Hanmer Springs. The Spa at the Pools was great and we benefitted from our massage and facial. The Pools themselves were a highlight. The shops were good. We especially enjoyed the Tait Gallery. Also loved the Forest walk and our visit to Queen Mary Hospital. Would love to come back on an open day.Guest review byWendyNew Zealand - 10.0

Great place for a break, combined with a bit of adventure for those who want it. Enjoyed the jet boat, hot pools and hydroslides. Nice walk up Conical Hill with great views over Hanmer. Lots of great pubs and restaurants to visit and "PJ's Pies" are a must!Guest review byCampbell - 8.0

Thermal Hots Pools are excellent, to suit all ages. Very clean, tidy and lots of Lifeguards around. Great variety of Restaurants, Pubs, Cafes, PJ's Pies, Pizza, Sushi etc. Plenty of shops from basic to high end. Only one 4 Square food market, but adequate. Very good selection of restaurants and cafes. The atmosphere and vibe is really good, many parks and spaces to walk around. Good for thrill seekers. Conical Hill is a good walk and great for the views The pools are excellent with a good range and friendly staff. However they are not cheap and hours are quite limited (10 - 7) Its close to Christchurch There are tourist prices in many places and you can spend money fast, however access makes this justifiable. The unit was very spacious and it was beautifully presented and clean with some special little touches like chocolates on the bed. The unit was quiet and had its own little courtyard. We really appreciated having an allocated car parking space right next to the unit. There was a free dvd library, and free towel loan to use at the nearby pools.
