The continental breakfast was amazing! Location is a short bus ride to old town and in a great spot for walking to many locations. There is also a small mall across the street which was a lifesaver for us as the airlines lost our bag.

The view was marvelous, really beautiful. We had good views from both hotel rooms. We loved that it was close to the town and that had a lot of areas to eat dinner. We also loved the amount of pools there were for the kids. There were a lot of choices.

FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colorful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Surrounded by turquoise waters, Dubrovnik Old Town sights include the picturesque Stradun, Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan monastery.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savor panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buses connect Dubrovnik Airport with the city center, and Booking.com has a variety of hotels, apartments, and guesthouses throughout.

The old town is an extraordinary place, a must-visit.

The old town is an extraordinary place, a must-visit. You can also take the lift up on the surrounding mountain for an astonishing view. Also of course the beaches of Adriatic sea are marvelous. However the rest of Dubrovnik doesn't offer that much of excitement. So stay somewhere better and do a visit into the town.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Dubrovnik as it is truly stunning and the surrounding scenery magnificent, including the islands. Only downside is it was very expensive compared to other European cities - 3 min cable car ride 60 euros per couple, walking the city walls 80 euros, struggled to find a bottle of house wine for less than 40 euros, etc. During our stay we hired a boat and visited many islands and prices were considerably cheaper and food/wine much higher quality.

City is easy to get around with a cheap daily bus pass.

City is easy to get around with a cheap daily bus pass. Multiple areas of interest even for those not involved with game of thrones. Very clean city. Highly recommend to pre-book dinners and an Uber to areas outside of the bus routes are easy to come by. This is a city that you can do very quickly if you like to but also at a leisurely pace

f you’re planning a stay in Dubrovnik, I really recommend...

f you’re planning a stay in Dubrovnik, I really recommend choosing the Lapad peninsula. It starts with the Sunset Beach promenade, full of restaurants and a lively nightlife in the evenings. We especially recommend the restaurant El Pulpo, where we had delicious seafood at very reasonable prices. Sunset Beach itself is a city beach with a mix of stones, gravel, and concrete, and it’s not overcrowded. You can also rent water sports equipment a bit further along. Getting to the Old Town is easy with bus number 6, which runs from Lapad through the city for only 2 EUR. Keep in mind, though, that the Old Town is very hot and much more expensive. If you’re renting a car, it’s worth staying on the way from the airport before reaching the Old Town – the prices are much better there, and the views are truly stunning. In fact, the best views of Dubrovnik are when you drive in from the airport side. Lapad itself is beautiful and green, but be prepared for some uphill walking if you plan to explore on foot. All in all, it’s a wonderful place to stay!

Dubrovnik is a fantastic city in terms of its beauty...

Dubrovnik is a fantastic city in terms of its beauty location and historical interest. The problem is the crowds - it is so shockingly overcrowded it’s almost unbearable. We visited in the middle of August during a heat wave which didn’t help. There’s also a sense that the soul has gone out of old town Dubrovnik because everything there is catered to tourists and lacks authenticity. One thing to note, If you are planning go to the beach in Dubrovnik be prepared - it’s incredibly crowded and not really a great option on a short visit. If you base yourself in Dubrovnik for a few days you could then visit Montenegro and Mostar or elsewhere and get beach time, which we had already done. I would visit Dubrovnik to be a short city break and do beach and boat trips etc elsewhere either in Montenegro, or another part of Croatia such as Orebić. In short, Dubrovnik makes a fab city break but I would not do it in August nor would I try to incorporate beach time there.

Dubrovnik is beautiful and historic, lots to see and do, many great restaurants. Negatives would be the big crowds in high summer, plus the number of steps everywhere. You need to be in decent physical shape to fully experience the city. A unique and unforgettable place to visit.

This small hotel (only 6 rooms) was a hidden oasis just 2min walk from one of the main old town entrances. From the private gardens you can also glimpse the water and it is also only a short walk to a little swimming spot with picturesque bars. The lovely staff were friendly, the room was 5 star newly renovated luxury and the breakfast was thoughtfully put together. If I ever make it back to Dubrovnik this is where I will stay!

Not too busy. Was full but plenty of sunbeds. Shady and sunny places which was great. Good jet skiing. Its by the sea but its rocky. So not really a sandy beach. But nice place. Very chilled and relaxed. A grown ups hotel. Nice for families that like it chilled. Good food options. Concierge services were excellent. Free parking. Great access to Old town by the bus. Dubrovnik is a really nice city. The hotel does it justice.

Everything as it’s brand new. The bed was as good as any 5 star hotel. Super easy to get to the Old town as there is a bus stop right across the road. Also a supermarket. Highly Recommend it. The only issue Is google maps doesn’t recognise it as it’s a brand new development but if you put in “ The Fairy s Cave “ that apartment is in the same complex and will take you right there
