Hotel Mt. Fuji, hotel in Yamanakako

Hotel Mt. Fuji features a hot spring bath with views of Mount Fuji, a sauna and a karaoke room. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout, 3 dining options and a charged indoor pool.

The location and the view were awesome! This was a much better location than Fujikawaguchiko which was mobbed with tourists. This resort hotel was fairly secluded and the view from the room and particularly from the back lawn was best one could hope for. I would highly recommend staying at least one night here because that way you can see Fujisan both at sunset and sunrise. We got lucky because the sky was clear during our stay, thus we got spectacular views of this beautiful snow-covered mountain. The service was absolutely superb, and the restaurants were lovely too, including the French restaurant where we had dinner. They have a shuttle bus that will take from and back to bus stop # 138.

It was a nice place to stop for a few days before heading back to Tokyo. Great places to eat and beautiful walks around the lake. There is a bathhouse not to far from the hotel but they do not allow tattoos- no exceptions.

This is a beautiful area full of nature and amazing views.

This is a beautiful area full of nature and amazing views. I went in October so out of the main season and it was nice and quiet with not many visitors around. Renting a Swan boat and feeding the ducks was great fun! I couldn't find a single vegetarian restaurant in town so something to be aware of if you don't eat meat or fish. Just be aware of the army base from which you can hear artillery fire every day. It's loud and a little disconcerting! I think Yamanakako is less touristy than Kawaguchiko which for me is a good thing.

It's a great area if you like outdoorsy activities.

It's a great area if you like outdoorsy activities. There's several hiking trails around the Lake, which are well marked and reward you with an awesome view of Fujisan when you get to the destination. The trails up to Mt Takazasu and Mt Myojin are good and take in the Panorama-Dei spot which is popolar for viewing Fujisan. All-day parking is available at Yamanakako Community Plaza Kirara, and the trailheads are 20-30min walk away from there. There is also a very nice 15km cycling path around the Lake, which is a very long but pleasant walk. If you're not outdoorsy, then the options are more limited to the nice restaurants, and there are high end and nice lower-priced options (Denny's, Cafe Gusto). There are also various onsen and sento in the town.

Pros - Mt Fuji is a glory to see so close up and the clouds and the skyline around the mountain were in a constant dance of change - breathtaking. The reflections of the sunset clouds on the lake were were dazzling. The freshness of the pristine air. The lack of high humidity. The sense of well-being offered by the area. The vehicles stopped at zebra crossings which isn't always the case in certain cities. Cons - At times we have to walk on the road within half a metre of passing vehicles. That could have possible unwanted outcomes.

    Yamanashi in general was gorgeous.

Yamanashi in general was gorgeous. We stayed at Yamanakako and it was a great place to stay at to get away from the stressful work environment in the city. We didn't get to eat at any local restaurants since we were too busy exploring the surrounding areas but you won't be left wanting for food options since everywhere you go, there's a restaurant nearby and they all looked so good. I think it would be more convenient if you travel around by car since the bus fare can get a little expensive if you're traveling far.

Location was good, with an amazing view of mt. Fuji, even from our room window! There was a convenience store and a laundromat at walking distance from the property, restaurants and the lake yamanaka were a little further down the road (about a mile) but our host was so kind that he gave us rides to the restaurants a couple of times, he even took us to the train station the last day and was very helpful giving us information about the buses and trains. Domo domo Hada san! 😁

Everything! The hotel is in such serene setting that all your troubles simply go away. The host was super caring and welcoming. It is on Yamanako sightseeing bus route which departs from platform 6 at Kawaguchiko station. You get off either one stop before Yamanakako Asahigaoka or at Yamanakako Asahigaoka as it is likely you’ll find a taxi there. It is a bit far from Kawaguchiko station, however, it is worth a visit for the peace and quiet you get.

An totally amazing place to stay. My family really enjoyed the stay, facilities, cleanliness, staffs and Mt Fuji view. The staffs were very friendly and helpful, and they can explain things really well in English. The room is very clean, super spacious, with private onsen! I want to give them 100 out of 10. Definitely the first choice to stay in Mt Fuji area.

The owners of the place are super nice people and service. When we told them that we would arrive late, they proposed to pick us up from the bus stop. They also informed us that due to good weather the Fuji will be painted in pink during the sunrise. Their open onsen (bath) is well maintain. Their Japanese breakfast is ok.

We love everything here. The room is small as Japanese standard but well-thought of amenities in the room. The woman on check-in is very helpful and enthusiastic but modest at the same time. The hotel manager is too cute! The location is perfect, close to the lake and also can walk to 7-11 and the bus stop easily.

This is a quiet and elegant hotel, It has a unique Japanese style, and the boss is kind and friendly. If time permits, a good soak in the bath can make the tiredness of the day disappear. Quite close to the lake, you can quickly see the beautiful and dreamy Mount Fuji. Looking forward to visiting again~

The location is great. It’s a short 5-7 minute walk to a beautiful view of Yamanakako, and there’s a bus station there as well. The onsen is small, but the size is ok based on the number of guests at the hotel — I used the bath both nights and only saw one other person. The price is excellent.

The Mt Fuji view is the best. I came back to stay in winter because I couldn't match the dates in summer last year. Host Daizen was friendly and responsive but not around when we stayed. He provided amenities to make the winter less cold. Very value for money.
