I love this city.
I love this city. Magnificent architecture, every photo you take can be used as a desktop wallpaper. Great atmosphere. A wide range of attractions, from cultural to party. You have to keep your eyes peeled so you don't get hit by a bike :). I love coming back here and will definitely come back again.

Compared with the rest of Holland parts of Amsterdam are dirty and 'down at heel'. People were friendly and some sections quite pleasant. The van Gogh museum is excellent and well worth a visit. I preferred places like, Leiden, Gouda and Amersfurt especially.

We were very lucky with the weather it was very warm. I could not believe the number of cyclists who do not always follow the road rules. There are lots of things to see and do and just walking round is very pleasant. A canal trip is also worth doing. I was there for a concert in Ziggo Dome, one night in Hostelle. So that I did not have to travel home after the concert. Had trouble finding the hostel, it is in the shopping mall, pedestrian area, opposite the burger place with the yellow M. Mall is a bit of a maze. Hostelle perfect, just like advertised. Definitely recommend for girls/women. And very handy for Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam Arena, Afas live, and shopping, eating near by. We used it as a crash pad for an overnight layover in Amsterdam. It was conveniently located to the Tram and Metro in a safe part of town -- about a 10 min taxi ride to the city center and 15 mins to the airport via taxi. The room itself was to the point -- it was small but enough room for the essentials. Comfy bed. My favorite thing was the shower. The shower pressure was amazing! Nothing better than an incredible warm and strong shower after a cold and rainy night. :D

They have a convenient underground parking space (22.5€/night) that is cheaper than leaving the car out on the street (4.50€/h from 9-19).
