I have been to Reykjavik 8 times but still find things to do. It is an expensive city but there are many ways to make it cheaper, the walk around the harbour is long and beautiful, lots of interesting things to see and you can pop into Harpa and wander around too,its a great building (I have even been to a free concert there). The local swimming pools are cheap and have hot pods too, definitely worth a visit. Explore off the high street to find amazing bakeries/cafes and buy treats to take home in Bonus (not gift shops!) I buy Ris biscuits or Icelandic salt to take home as gifts. There are loads of coach trips which go from a local bus station, it runs like clockwork.Guest review byLouiseUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I was disappointed in Reykjavik maybe due to my expectations. The landscape is barren with almost no trees and weather can be windy and grey even in June. It is one of the most expensive places I have traveled too and was surprised by how expensive food was and you need to like fish or lamb to eat in many places. Our stay in Reykjavik was awesome. Don't know how it would be in winter though. The Harper Concert Hall is sensational. Attend a performance if you can. Reykjavik is a delightful small city and worth more than the one night we spent there. Like many people, we spent most of our time on the Golden circle and west to Glacier Lagoon and Hofn. We really enjoyed visiting the National museum, the harborside - lots of funky fashion outlets of local designers and eateries. During our stay there was lots of street life down the main city area. Food was expensive (is it is everywhere in Iceland!) but recommend the Arctic char, Icelandic lamb soup and the wonderful breads and pastries.Guest review byLesleyAustralia - 10.0

Lots of restaurants around, but the street is quiet. We took a shuttle from the airport and several excursions with Reykjavik Excursions, Fly Bus, and it was very convenient, the drop-off stop is only 5 minutes from the hotel. Hotel is very quit, we sleept well, litery ok, we had everything we need in the small kitchen. The supermarket is also just 5 minutes from the hotel. For the price is much better then the expensive ones in the city centre which look out dated / from the past. Also self check in is excellent if you don't want to see the staff or just wat to do everything on your own. I don't see the staff at all when I stay, but for me that's fine.
