We loved the library and the Music Centre and a wonderful coffee place called 'Roberts coffee' in the centre. It felt very safe and had interesting buildings to walk around. For me it was so bitterly cold and snowed twice - in April - and although I like snow I didn't enjoy the ice the following days. I need to travel to somewhere warm! Arrived late Friday, left Sunday evening. More than enough time there (although opinion was a little jaded due to unexpected snow). Little to see in the city centre (covered all the 'sights' in 2-3 hours walk. Ferries weren't working due to technical issues. It's ridiculously expensive which takes the spontaneity out of stopping for a coffee, drink or snack. Some attractions (one of the churches) wanted 8 euro entrance each - just didn't seem worth it. Looked at possible restaurants for dinner - a curry house was charging 25 euro for a basic curry - no sides, rice or extras - just the main dish. Also, travelling from the UK, I have never been interrogated by passport control as much - wanted to see return flight details, hotel information, know why you were there "as you've left the EU so why do you want to come here" - not the best welcome and definitely started the weekend with a sour taste in our mouths!julieUnited Kingdom
