FAQs about hotels in Luton

A Bedfordshire Getaway

Between 2 of England’s principal motorways, the M1 and A1(M), Luton is best known as an arrival point for cheap flights to London. A low cost carrier hub, Luton Airport is home to the unmistakable orange headquarters of Easyjet.

Booking.com offers hotels on the airport grounds, as well as accommodations including guesthouses in the town nearby, many of which offer free parking. But that isn't the only reason to visit.

Luton once had an important role in hat-making, an industry which has given its name to the Hat Factory performing arts venue. The town’s huge carnival is based in leafy Wardown Park, home of Luton Museum and Art Gallery.

Local crafts from yesteryear are displayed in the discovery center at Stockwood Park. Also here is one of the golf courses surrounding the town, and just east is a spa and swimming pool at the Luton Hoo country house hotel. Another golf course borders the Dunstable Downs to the west, and a third is by Whipsnade Zoo, the largest in the UK.

Luton shopping options include The Mall (previously the Arndale Centre), and the nearby station offers direct trains to London St. Pancras. Available restaurants cover everything from Indian to Caribbean and Malaysian.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the airport terminal.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the airport terminal. The room with an open sofa bed was quite small but the double was fine. Nowhere to put any clothing except hanging. They served a cold breakfast for travelers who had early flights. I would stay there again if I have a Luton layover.

    Luton is pretty depressing.

Luton is pretty depressing. The town centre has very little to it and feels intimidating. I was alone with my three year old and despite this we were approached several times. One woman even started shouting and swearing at us when we didn’t give her money. Town centre is run down and limited nice restaurant/cafe options. The library has a bouncer, which probably tells you all you need to know. However there are plenty of green spaces kust of of town and loads of great little market towns accessible by bus and train (Hitchin, Harpenden etc). The plus point of Luton is that it’s extremely well connected by train and bus. The airport is also very close and not expensive to reach by taxi.

I am biased as I always travel by air to Luton Airport, so its a little difficult with very early or late flights to travel long distances to my final destination. Much more convenient to stay nearer to the Airport

I went for family. luton is in south bedfordshire. it is largest town and suffers a bit of a decline. Near London espesc by train, St Albans and some villages (home of John Bunyan) and Dunstable (priory Church with extensive history: henry 1, 2, 8th). Easy to get to from M1. Near whipsnade zoo and woburn, and will be near new Universal Studios when it is built

Luton is ran down and feels like a niglected town by government, I found my interactions with the people in the area. Shops hotel staff friendly and helpful, But I wouldn't leave my hotel in the evening the square has alot of your men and the smell of cannabis everywhere around the treats is worrying.

Very central and on site parking for convenience. Cheap overnight accomodation. Nice welcome by the staff. Food in the bar was nice and reasonably priced. Food stops at about 9 pm We just made the time and staff were not phased or put out when we ordered. Room comfortable and clean. Local to the town centre and the airport. We would definitely use the place again.

I needed a location close to Luton airport but also quick access to trains to London. It actually ended up cheaper than if I had stayed in London itseLf, and the journey was only 20 minutes or so. Good food, nice rooms. Easy walk to the train station and also to the airport on returning.

Very convenient location as we arrived to Luton airport late at night. There is a bus stop and train station close by but we ended up taking a bolt ride into London which was cheaper for the 4 of us than taking transit. The room was beautiful and clean as well!
