I loved the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, cozy and clean. The location was great! Even being in a pub, you couldnt hear a single sound. It exceeded my expectaions.

The Pot Kiln is located in such a wonderful location that once you arrive you feel very relaxed. However, the best part is the staff including Ms. Katie Robinson. She showed us a walk path across the fields in front of the property that I took several times during our stay of two nights. Originally, we were going to stay three nights but had a timing issue / problem with the return of the car rental which made it wise for us to stay much closer to Oxford than originally planned. Ms. Robinson was very understanding and helpful for us to make the change. We were sorry to have to leave earlier because the hotel, the food and the staff are superb. Eating breakfast right next to the cows was a wonderful experience. We loved it and cannot wait to return.

We stayed one night at the Furze Bush Inn while traveling between Devon and London. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff very helpful and accommodating. They suggested a hike up Beacon Hill, which turned out to be wonderful. We had a nice dinner in the pub and a very nice breakfast in the dining room. They have a wonderful garden for afternoon drinks. Altogether, a very pleasant stay.

Great location - only a short walk into the town centre. Staff were great - check in & check out was nice & simple.
The room was basic, bathroom was clean and in a good condition.
Parking was easy - the car park was very busy but we found a space with ease.
Breakfast was great - however i do wish they would serve tea / coffee to the table and have bigger cups. (Hot water from a dispenser & tea bag is never the same as freshly brewed teapot)

I was in Newbury for work at the local showground which was a short 10min drive.
In the evenings we had the pleasure of visiting the local pubs and restaurants of which there are plenty for all tastes and budgets (Italian, That, English, Turkish, Spanish etc) including take always too.
You can stroll along the river, take in the theatre or shopping areas, ideal for a weekend trip with a partner or friends as the racecourse is also close by.

Small market town that has essential shopping and even a family owned department store. There are many walks along the canal or small river that runs around the town. Visit Highclere ( the home of Downton Abbey) or just chill out in the surrounding countryside.

Newbury was a bit of a revelation.
Newbury was a bit of a revelation. To be honest all we needed was a place to eat as we had opted not to eat in the Hotel. There were plenty to choose from on the high street and we opted for a Lebanese which had beautiful food with good service. The high street itself was closed but we had a wander around and discovered what would be a very vibrant centre in the day time
We occupied a suite so it was ideal for a small family celebration whilst other party members were housed in the Manor House. Generally reception restaurant and bar staff were very welcoming and efficient. We had an evening meal on the Saturday for 9 of us and we were looked after very attentively in particular Lisa was very friendly and attended to our needs. Breakfast on both mornings was very enjoyable. The Hotel is well situated for good walks pity I didn't have enough time to play some golf.
We went for family weekend and everything in the hotel was good. Not all the rooms were as close as we would have liked but that caused no problems. The pool was great for the grandkids. There was plenty of seating in reception area. Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice. My wife is coeliac and gluten free and the staff were really helpful to ensure there was no cross contamination. The one evening meal we had in the restaurant was good. Location close to M4 and Newbury was excellent.
The Furze Bush is your perfect English Country Inn! The pub is adorable, the breakfast was perfect and cooked to order!
We enjoyed drinks on the lawn, played with dogs that others who’d stopped in for a pint brought!
Room was comfortable and spacious compared with city hotel rooms.
It is also just a 10 min ride from Highclere Castle. We booked a roundtrip with “Take me home James” car service and these whole event was exceptional!
The room was great, very comfortable and clean. We don't usually eat at the hotel, but the food was so good we ate here both nights. The set menu is especially good value. Shower was very good, toiletries were nice. Great to have fresh milk delivered each morning to the room along with bottled water. Staff were generally very good and friendly. the town centre is walkable, around 20 minutes.
The hotel is in a great position just on the edge of the town so central to walk to all the attractions but also quiet enough in the evenings. The rate for the room and breakfast was amazing value, the room was very clean and much larger than expected and plenty of choice for breakfast. Free parking is a great bonus and really friendly staff made it a great stay! Would totally recommend.
Breakfast was included and we had a choice between full English to Continental as well as any other choice we could think of. The rooms were a bit small when judged on other hotels on the continent. Location was away from the city but right on the bus line. Staff were more than anxious to cater to our every need. Walk in bathroom was a pleasure.
The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting Newbury, the free car park is such a bonus, all the staff we encounted with were very accommodating and pleasant to deal with, the room was warm and cosy, the bathroom was clean and the help yourself English breakfast was a great way to start your day.
Room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent towels, big and fluffy! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is great, a short walk from Newbury town centre and free parking out the front of the hotel. Easy to get to main roads from the location.
The location is great for the surrounding area, with Newbury less than 15 minutes away. There's ample parking and it was easy to find being not too far off the main road. The outside of the pub and accomodation house looked lovely and there was little to no noise at night.
Staff were helpful, friendly and professional. The room was clean, well sized and very pleasant. The hotel was set in splendid grounds offering the feel of strolls in the country and yet close to the centre of Newbury. Excellent value for money as well.
A characterful heritage pub hotel located in the old town square conveniently located for access to all of Newbury’s shops. High powered central heating delivers lots of warmth. Super comfortable beds. Spacious rooms.
