Beautiful old property with new modern lodging, additions… It’s obvious most of the money spent building the huge spa and new lodging with less attention to the older building.
Located in the center of St. Austell, White Hart Hotel features a traditional restaurant and lively bar. The Rail Station is 5 minutes’ walk away and there is free private parking.

The position is wonderful. The atmosphere easy and warm . The room was comfortable.
From our country house hotel by the sea, the only thing we overlook is the bay. Our spectacular clifftop location offers a 180 degree sea view over Carlyon Bay.

Nice and conveniently located to transportation and food shopping. One of few places with availability of heating during cooler weather. Enjoyed the homemade breakfast platter.

We came to meet up with family at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, just for the day, which were wonderful. We did not visit the beach or any other facility. We returned to our holiday destination in North Devon the same day.

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

Many interesting places to visit.
Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel.
We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.
Breakfast was exceptional - good variety on menu and well presented. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The location was convenient for walking into the town centre and the hotel made a good base for visiting attractions such as Charlestown, Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan as well as resorts of Mevagissy and the Padstow area. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and knowlegeable about the area
The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.
It was nice to have a friendly welcome on arrival. The hotel is lovely and quiet even though it's close to the town centre. I had a very comfortable, warm room and really comfortable bed I had a wonderful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked English breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. I would definitely come again.
Very cute room with comfy beds and nice towels provided. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It's close to the main part of town with shops and restaurants, and also only a 5 minute walk from St. Austell train station (though it's downhill, so going back to the train is a bit harder on your calves!).
We loved the hotel for its good breakfast, simple but effective dinner options, and a lovely set of staff. In-house parking is near and very convenient. Hassle free check-in and check-out facilities. Strategically located to access key locations around Cornwall within a 30-50 min drive.
Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely.
For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food.
For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
The location and views were amazing! The staff, especially the lady who checked us in, were polite, attentive and very helpful. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will definitely stay there again if I decide to come back to Charlestown.
Exceptional hotel and restaurant. Very clean and tidy. Rooms were large, well decorated and clean. Evening meal was fabulous. Great menu with great chefs and staff. Would recommend. Good value for Monday. Will definitely stay again.
The location is amazing, short walk to charlestown, and the nearby beach, which is beautiful, and the veiw from the hotel is incredible, pizza from the resteraunt is great, the bar isn't overpriced and the breakfast is good.
Home from home experience. Excellent choice and standard of food. Comfortable beds. Hotel and gardens excellent and relaxing. Most of all, every member of staff was very welcoming and super helpful.
Loved everything about this hotel. The room was massive, the location was great, very close to the town centre but very quiet at the same time. Very nice breakfast with buffet and hot plates.
The property was in a beautiful location. The bed was comfortable and the spa was lovely. Loved that the outdoor pool was heated. The hotel itself was very beautiful and very clean looking.
