The Cornwall Hotel Spa & Lodges, hotel in St Austell

In 43 acres of parkland, this stunning 19th-century manor house has a luxurious spa, a gym and an infinity pool. It offers a range of accommodations just a few miles from The Eden Project.

Beautiful old property with new modern lodging, additions… It’s obvious most of the money spent building the huge spa and new lodging with less attention to the older building.

We came to meet up with family at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, just for the day, which were wonderful. We did not visit the beach or any other facility. We returned to our holiday destination in North Devon the same day.

St Austell is a great base to explore Cornwall. The town isn't fantastic, but it's 5 minutes from the Eden Project, also 5 minutes to Charlestown , an historic and interesting harbour, Mevagissey is very near, and it's near to several beaches.

Many interesting places to visit. Lovely coastline with quaint villages. Mevagissey, Fowey, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden project are must sees! I shopped in St Austell itself. A good variety of shops, in interesting streets and lanes.

We stayed in Mevagissey which is south of StAustel. St Austel is not the best place to visit in Cornwall and is a little run down but there are promises that efforts are being made to improve its image and facilities.

The suite was extensive with a huge bathroom. Rather a bizarre configuration because it comprised various parts of an old house, but very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially accommodating our having breakfast in a separate room as we weren't feeling terribly well. The grounds were lovely, too. A lot of thought and work has been put into this hotel.

It was nice to have a friendly welcome on arrival. The hotel is lovely and quiet even though it's close to the town centre. I had a very comfortable, warm room and really comfortable bed I had a wonderful night's sleep and enjoyed a delicious well cooked English breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owner. Very cute room with comfy beds and nice towels provided. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It's close to the main part of town with shops and restaurants, and also only a 5 minute walk from St. Austell train station (though it's downhill, so going back to the train is a bit harder on your calves!).

We loved the hotel for its good breakfast, simple but effective dinner options, and a lovely set of staff. In-house parking is near and very convenient. Hassle free check-in and check-out facilities. Strategically located to access key locations around Cornwall within a 30-50 min drive.

Breakfast was generous - and fresh fruit was lovely. For evening meals, the Kings Arms is a short walk away, and does good beer and decent pub food. For an alternative to pubs, try the Salty Bay Pizza place, a couple of miles away, and very nice pizza and salad
