Inverness is a major city in Northern Scotland, and, as such has many and varied facilities.
Plenty of opportunities to eat out, or just enjoy a drink.
The people we met were friendly and helpful.
Our favourite places were the Inverness Botanical Gardens and the Falls of Foyers, (which are about 15 miles away)

Lovely city with some really beautiful parts.
Lovely city with some really beautiful parts. Clearly a seedy side (there was a major assault not 50m from our door on one night!), which is true of any city, but Inverness is small enough for it to feel cheek by jowl with the nicer parts. Great range of places to eat and things to do. Easily walkable to everywhere.
Best apartment in Scotland during our 2-week road trip. Very cosy apartment, well equipped, with nice furnitures and a very tasty decoration, very well maintained, very clean. A nice and large dining kitchen. Very confortable beds and rooms. A large living room with cosy sofas. Some books and games. The possibility to park easily in front of the apartment in the street is very convenient. Beauly is a nice and pleasant village, at 15-minute drive distance from Inverness. Possibility to travel to Inverness by train too. From Beauly.
If you want to experience a piece of Scotland, then stay at this property. It's a family hunting lodge converted to a B&B. The host goes above and beyond to accommodate, is super engaging and interesting. The property was originally built in the 1800's and added on since and has all the modern conveniences and stylishly decorated. Breakfast was amazing - you won't need to eat until dinner. We had fresh baked goods upon arrival and fresh bread for breakfast. My only disappointment is that we only booked one night.
This was probably our favourite place we've stayed in Scotland. It is an easy walk from the train station (Inverness is very walkable) and the apartment had everything we needed. There were lots of helpful notes around the apartment for the various things, a coffee machine (not a coffee drinker but others would find this amazing) and a washing machine. We did a reasonable amount of cooking and the apartment had all the utensils we needed. So cosy and the bed was huge.
Friendly welcome from host who is a mine of information about Scotland and Inverness, from lovely anecdotes to tips for places to visit and things to do. Rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, every taste catered, be it fresh fruit salad, yogurt or porridge to a full cooked breakfast.
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cosy and comfortable guest house just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Inverness.
What didn't we like? This is probably the best place I've stayed in Scotland. The property is a bit outside of the city but it is gorgeous! The staff were fantastic and incredibly kind. The food was amazing as well. We recommend to get the pork belly for dinner if it is offered!
One night, there was a leak that set off the fire alarm. One quick call and the staff were there to help. The problem was resolved within 30 minutes.
great little BnB, good location just off of the old town. A bit of a walk but not bad at all. check in process was so easy, they texted me the key code and had the room ready ahead of time. it was really nice to just walk in and unpack, take a short nap and head back into town. breakfast was pretty typical for BnBs in Scotland, good simple breakfast food both hot and cold. the ladies did a great job and were very pleasant.
The whole apartment experience was absolutely fantastic. Jo was really helpful and assisted my wife in moving apartments as we extended our stay but the first one wasn't available for the second night! Nothing was any trouble. I think that I can say that after 40 years of travel around Scotland for business and pleasure, this was the most exceptional stay. We are planning to stay again either later this month or next!
Everything was above our expectations. We were made to feel totally at home by Margaret who ran the accommodation. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There was an excellent choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Good safe parking and convenient for Inverness and the surrounding area. The best accommodation we have had touring Scotland.
Highly recommended.
Our host, Kayreen, was very helpful and kind. She even filled a special request I had for an exercise mat by going up to her attic to find one! The room is fully-equipped including a refrigerator.
We had a tasty truly traditional breakfast, the only one provided by a host in all of our travels in Scotland. Thank you!
Food was amazing. One of the best meals my wife and I have had in our lives and we tried many of the top restaurants in our 2 week trip to Scotland. Chef perfected every single dish he made. Hotel location was awesome and private, vibe of the staff was perfect, helpful, kind, genuine.
Everything...Kenny was an excellent host, and the place was fabulous. Room was very clean and tidy, and had everything you can ask for. Breakfast was the best we've had in 2 weeks of holiday in Scotland.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in visiting Inverness.
Very economical!! Great location, about 10 minutes to the train station. I was here for 3 consecutive cycling trips, with pickup and departure at the train station each time. This is where I'll stay the next time I travel with Wilderness Scotland from Inverness.
It is a great starting point to travel all around Scotland and the Highlands. Inverness is just a few minutes away and the place is tidy, comfortable and you got everything you need. The hosts Ian and Oyfrid were also very lovely and kind! We had a great time there.
All of the staff were extremely welcoming and appeared genuinely concerned that guests have a good experience in Inverness and Scotland. We were even invited to a small barbecue in the back garden, with family and friends.
The couple who runs this place was exceedingly friendly and made the stay way better than a simple hotel room ever could have. The whole house had a rustic charm that really fit with the overall experience of Scotland.
beautiful location. Truly passionate about keeping this great place as the best B&B in Scotland. Love the garden and surroundings. Home made jams and fruit is fantastic
Nothing.it is the worst experience of our lives. This hotel should be reported to the health board. As it is the dirtiest Hotel in inverness.if not scotland.
