Lovely old buildings and fantastic cathedral. Had a great meal in a Thai restaurant. For a bank holiday , Hereford was surprisingly quiet. Hereford is a lovely place for a short stay. It is easy to walk around. There are some nice shops and great places to eat both at lunchtime and in the evening. The Cathedral was very interesting and there are some lovely period buildings nearby. Lots of choice of shops and eating places suiting every budget. The cathedral well worth the visit however the signage for the cathedral was very poor and arrows in the town were pointing in the wrong direction completely. It's not a busy street. Parking was free, and off road. The room was cosy, spacious, well equipped in the bathroom with my favourite toiletries :) Downstairs, the breakfast and dining room extension is all pale wood and glass, sitting on the castle moat, with sun streaming in, and duck life to observe outside. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was perfect. 5 minutes walk to the train and bus stations, supermarket very close and all the attractions of Hereford town centre within a 15mins walk.
