I love Whitley Bay, my family live there and I have been many times. The locals are always friendly and helpful. There are great places to eat and Cullercoats and Tynemouth are in walking distance. The Metro and bus service are excellent.Guest review byPrice - 8.0
The town is a bit run down but is up and coming.
The town is a bit run down but is up and coming. The beach is lovely and there is a good promenade too. Spanish City is a great asset with cafes and restaurants. Park View is a wonderful independent shopping street. There are a range of restaurants to choose from. The Metro and bus connect the resorts of Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. We really liked the area. It was clean and looked cared for.
We really liked the area. It was clean and looked cared for. I also felt safe and comfortable taking early morning walks. Most people were polite and friendly. Tynemouth Cullercoats Blyth too all And small villages in the middle it never Disappoints xx Best Fish and Chips in the North East . ! Such a pretty seaside town. Great amenities - restaurants, takeaways, shops, parking, amusements, free toilets. Beautiful beach - long and sandy, rock pools, clean beach and water. Value for money was excellent for the UK. The room was OK - British budget hotel standard - with surprisingly good wifi, a kettle and the basics for making coffee, a reasonable bathroom and a bed with a mattress that reminded me of my days in student halls. Everything you could need. Next door to the Nisa shop and clubhouse. Waking up to have breakfast with the sea view from the patio doors was a highlight. Dog friendly too always a bonus. Bus stops outside to Newcastle or Blyth or quick way of getting into Whitley bay etc. Very quiet and comfy beds. Lovely little walks to the lighthouse recommended.
