FAQs about hotels in Naples

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

As for accommodations, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city center apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.

Naples has a lot of history, and we were in the historic center of Naples. After reading all the stories online of pick pockets and crime, we were skeptical, but took care of our belongings(backpack in front, keep hands in pocket at busy places) but it was all good. So much to see depending on choices. We did Pompeii a must see and took ferry to Amalfi for a day trip which is also a must see. Pizza at Sorbillo and oldest pizza place in world Antica pizzeria Port'Alba also must do things. Walking is easy and Uber app works , they have tie up with local taxis.

Liked - plenty of restaurant options on the Saturday night we were there, plus easy metro transport from the ferry terminal to central railway station when transiting from Amalfi. Disliked - don’t know what the city tax is spent on because the streets were filthy everywhere we went; plus pick-pocketers were in action on the Saturday night. Avoid crowded metro stations.

It was truly an amazing experience and best decision to stay in Villetta Capodimonte. There is a big garden where you can rest in a lounge set or hammock after being all day in the city. The rooms are great and have everything you need. Salvatore received us and the communication was excellent with him for the whole trip. He gave us tips for our vacation in Italy and was always very attentive to our requests. Breakfast was also delicious! I fully recommend it and we would for sure stay there again when we go back to Naples.

The apartment felt so homey and cozy and we were impressed with the effort the host put in for all the details in decoration and equipment. The host Clemmy was very kind and considerate with our late check-in and even prepared lots of food and drinks for us to welcome! We stayed 3-4 other places while traveling in Italy and this was hands-down the bestest place we stayed!! We stayed at 3 B&Bs during our time in Italy and this place was our favourite! The coast was literally just around the corner, with so many restaurants there & within walking distance. Sebastiano kindly got us an iron for our clothes. It was so cosy, perfect for a couple or 2 friends with plenty space to move around. I'm an interior designer so I was in love with the (comfy) cushions & the beautiful entrance door, this place is a hidden gem in Naples.

I really liked this hotel. The restaurant and outside terrace were lovely with amazing views across Naples Bay. Breakfast was excellent and I ate dinner on 2 nights and that was excellent too. The staff were helpful and very friendly especially Angelo on reception who arranged a taxi collection from Afrigola station. Having stayed in various hotels in Italy this was much better than most in this price range. I will look forward to returning.

The host is attentive and responsive. The location is perfect for walking thru Naples' busy narrow streets. To get to the hotel you pass thru an old courtyard and ride an "historic" elevator, and then enter a very modern hotel unit. The contrast is delightful. The hotel has a terrace off the breakfast room, and the staff serves you at the tables. We traveled thru italy for 3 weeks, and this was the biggest and most pleasant surprise.

Nice apartment with a clean room and kitchen that you can dine there. The balcony is cute, very Italy style. Walking distance to the Trainstation and public transportation. The area near the train station would be a little bit messy, just like everywhere in the world, I guess. But in Naples, it would be nice if you stay in somewhere you can walk to the place you want, taking a bus or car would cost you more time...
