Our stay at IL Barilotto was great, the customer service was amazing and felt very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning and the views were amazing as well. Not very far from central positano but has a quieter vibe that is good for less traffic and commotion. Very close to Praiano which has a very authentic feel compared to Positano. The shuttle is convenient for if you want to be in the mix more than not and it’s not too far from both Positano and Amalfi’s beaches. When we visit the Amalfi Coast again this is where we will rebook!

Great hotel with a superb location. Wonderful helpful staff. We are pleasantly surprised by the richness and variety of the breakfast. I would especially like to mention Paulo, who not only helps with everything, but also anticipates desires and helps to realize them to the maximum extent.

We had a fantastic suite. We received an upgrade to a one-bedroom suite with a spectacular view. Our friends were placed in a junior suite next to us, which allowed us to enjoy the experience of Positano together. The rooms, and especially the outside deck and balcony, were spacious and clean. The pool area was excellent, with friendly and personable staff. Great fitness room overlooking the ocean. It is truly situated in the best location in Positano. The shuttle service was worth the price of having to valet our car.

One of the most stunning places I've ever visited.
One of the most stunning places I've ever visited. Relatively unspoilt as it's difficult to reach and very expensive. Felt like an exclusive holiday location. Colourful buildings springing out of the hills, beautiful climate and STUNNING flora and fauna. All in all, one feels like one has been dropped into paradise on earth. Visiting in April is to be recommended as it feels neither too hot nor too crowded. I can't sing its praises enough. Travelling can be tricky if you have older people in your party - almost every route around the town involves steep steps. Spoilt for choice in terms of eating - we didn't have a bad meal. Shout out to Il Capitano (higher end) and Il Fornillo (slightly more reasonably priced). Recommend day trips to Pompeii and Vesuvius, the Amalfi coast (from Positano to Maiori), boat trip to Capri and Anacapri, and Sorrento.

Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot...
Positano is absolutely amazing, but be ready to walk a lot of stairs, on very very steep trails. Respectfully, this place is not ideal for unfit people. Depending if you’re staying close the beach or on the upper side of the city, you will either have to take the stairs with your luggage or get a taxi, which is not cheap there.
There are a lot of good restaurants to choose from, and also very affordable, even though the city is rated to be quite expensive.
The beach is relatively small, so don’t expect to find a spot to lay down on the sand if you’re travelling during the summer season. As we visited in march, the weather was 10-18 degrees Celsius, which was prefect, also we avoided the crowds and the Mediterranean summer heat of June-August.

Is picturesque.
Is picturesque. Very hilly so if you have mobility problems would be best avoided. It is expensive even for little things like snacks I found it financially beneficial to have a proper meal. Other than that an enjoyable place to visit.

The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in...
The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful destination to visit in Italy. Originally, when booking this location, I thought the area was sold out-it was hard to find accommodations. But once we arrived we learned that the entire Amalfi Coast pretty much goes silent from November to late March. The area has limited restaurants open as well as hotels. So we were lucky we found a home in which to stay. Use the bus SITA to buy a trip to Amalfi to spend 4-5 hours. Well worth the 3euro cost. Other locations available too on this bus line. Sorrento can be visited as well using the public transportation. The winding roads leading from Sorrento to Positano and then to Amalfi will leave you spell bound. Sharp drops, scenic ocean views and the lovely speckle of homes up and down these cliffs is just breath taking. Highly recommend a visit to the area.

Everything was closed during Dec, no where to eat and only few shops were open, spent 3 nights and it was too long with no where to eat and not much to do, walked daily for spectacular views!
Lots of stairs to climb and I would definitely avoid coming December-March.

Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer...
Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer when we could use the beach. Stairs ! Stairs! Stairs! I didn't believe it until I seen it with my own eyes how much stairs there are. If you have trouble with stairs or walking Positano could be a difficult area. Luggage is also difficult to carry around here, and there is only 1 major road and if your not staying at a hotel on that road, there are alot of steps to get there.
The location is amazing right on the edge of town with the best view (5 min walk to the busiest part of positano). The hotel has a private beach with sun loungers free of charge which is next to a beach club with a good vibe serving nice cocktails. It also has swimming pool facilities, the restaurant food is exceptional (although hot breakfast options could have been better), lovely wine selection and nice spacious rooms (with jacuzzi bath). Team are very sweet too. Parking cost is also reasonable and onsite.
This is an amazing stay, Alfonso’s assistance, accommodations / amenities, local knowledge, and friendliness make it feel much more like a hotel than a rental property. Like anywhere in Positano there are a lot of climbing and stairs to reach the property, but it is so worth it to be slightly off the most touristy path and in a quiet area with amazing private views. Walk down to the beach is fast (10-15 min), and coming back home is doable on foot but the bus helps in the summer heat! 10/5 stars.
i would rate 100/10 if i could. the hotel is brilliant. it exceeded my expections. the staff are so helpful. we have the same view as le sirenuse in positano which is one of the best views of the city. the breakfast was brilliant with so many options. the location, the room, the cleanliness everything is exceptional. one of the best hotels in europe i have visited. special mention to the front desk staff who were so helpful and kind. thank you again and definitely coming back to stay here again
Casa Nilde is an unexpected little gem in Positano run by the most fantastic hosts, Francesco and Luigi. Not only is it tucked away in the best part of Positano (close to everything without having to walk hours to get to it), but you feel like family when you stay there. This was a highlight of our honeymoon and we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here! Opening up the doors to the balcony and taking in the view for the first time is a moment we will never forget
The room was incredible and modern. The view from the room and the terrace are breath taking! Everything was very clean and Valerio our host is an amazing person! Everything was well organized and Valerio helped us a lot with coordinating our transfer and recommending the best restaurants. We also stayed in other hotels in Positano however the service and hospitality we received at Terrazza Zaffiro was the best. We are looking forward to come back to this beautiful place.
It’s practically on the beach. The customer service was amazing especially the porters / waiters like Giovanni, super helpful and friendly.
Absolutely loved the room, can’t remember what it’s called but it has the sun loungers and it’s the best view on that level on the island.
Positano is not for you if you can’t do steps and hills but absolutely breathtaking. We visited all the other key places like sorrento/almalfi etc and so glad we chose to stay here
location is Amazing! The Villa was immaculate, comfortable more like a 5 star hotel. The staff essentially was available for every need we have, booking taxis and tours whatever we needed and made sure everything was perfect! I recommend Villa Aldo Marino, our Hostess Viviann who saw after each request, and Staff Marco who made us amazing breakfast every morning and of course Aldo who helped with the luggage and smiles…. Bellissimo Villa Aldo!
staff absolutely friendly and helpful with anything (helping find a garage, book boat trips, find breakfast, male restaurant reservations, etc)
the place was clean and super comfy, best located in the heart of positano. the most important things (bakery, restaurants, port, shops) were in only 2 min walking distance - top!
a very recommandable alternative to all these 5 star expensive hotels!
The hotel staff were amazing and very hospitable - we even got our room upgraded for one of the nights. Carmela and Daniella were extremely helpful and welcoming, including the other staff we met throughout our stay but didn’t get a chance to get their names. The views from the dining area is amazing - probably one of the best viewpoints in Positano. Thank you! 10/10 Highly Recommend.
Location and staff hospitality.
When we arrived, warm welcome from reception and the beltboy and staff are so helpful to carry up the heavy luggage and the welcome drink and your cheerful smile when we arrived.
Hotel room are clean with amazing view from the room.
They do explained very details on the map of Positano and given perfect guide to travel and hand around at Positano.
The hotel was wonderfully lush, with amazing views over Positano and the sea from the balcony. All the amenities were fantastic and breakfast was provided daily, to the room and as you liked! But the best part was the host / owner, who was kind and full of useful information who made the stay extra special (making reservations, calling to check availabilities). Highly recommended.
The Location is Excellent and I also Loved The Italian Lady Rosa she was straight up Italian very little English but Firm and Funny we got along great helped me with everything. Rosa is the best part of that place hahaha .. The Location is expensive don't expect any 5 stars a great place because of the Location right by the ocean I would stay here again
This hotel is the best kept secret in Positano! We had a beautiful ocean view with a balcony. The room itself was much bigger than expected and was very clean. The location is ideal. They even arranged an airport transfer to Naples for us at the end of our stay. I would recommend anyone to stay here! A great deal for the price.
This is the most beautiful place to stay. We got married here and it was so wonderful to go back and visit. The villa is stunning, every detail is so special and the views are the best in Positano. The food is also the best we have ever had in Italy thanks to Chef Nick! Everything is wonderful I could not recommend it more.
Best hotel and view in all of Positano. Gorgeous Terrace for sun bathing or sitting with the view. The only hotel I’m Positano to have its own private beach. Room was gorgeous, clean, and comfortable and had a private balcony. 10 minute easy walk to city center and the beach!
Great location and views with a sea view room. Good deal since you don’t have to take >200 steps like certain hotels in Positano to get a view. Breakfast was served to your room and you can enjoy it on your balcony with a view. Staff was extremely kind
Location like all properties in Positano down steps & up hills - an idea when booking confirmed to tell visitors best way to reach hotel - I got these directions but only after I particularly asked by mail
The location overlooked all of Positano and was a little less touristy, it felt secluded and intimate. Lisa was such an amazing host and did her best to make the end of our honeymoon unforgettable
The hotel is on a super location, it has great staff, very friendly and helpful. The views are one of the best you can get in Positano. Lots of great restaurants in the direct environment.
