Nagoya's not like your other big cities in Japan (like Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo, Fukuoka). There aren't many standout sightseeing spots or the like, so it might feel a bit dull if you are expecting those. But it is an excellent city to vibe in. Enjoy Japanese culture on a more relaxed - less touristy - way.

Nagoya has a lot of cool areas and walkable zones.
Nagoya has a lot of cool areas and walkable zones. Less than some of the more touristy cities in Japan, but definitely worth visiting and exploring. Lots of tasty food and the district near my hotel was actually really pretty despite being more industrial than commercial.

We didn’t have much time to explore Nagoya as it was our starting point to travel to Shiroko for the Formula 1 race at Suzuka Circuit (Thurs- Sun) We did see a lot of Nagoya Station as we arrived & departed from there, walking to the apartment on arrival and back to the station on departure. It was an easy walk, not busy with many pedestrians until nearing the station. We went to the mini marts (7 Eleven also) numerous times for food and drink which we carried home. Also had meals at several of the restaurants nearby. A great location and wonderful accommodation! Would highly recommend.

Nagoya is a city without too many visiters compare to Tokyo or Osaka. It's just perfect for us to visit. It has lots of sightseeing places, like legoland, wild animal park, shopping centers, etc. We will revisit this city in near future.

Loved the convenience of everything.
Loved the convenience of everything. Transport is great, as always, in Japan. We walked through underground shopping arcades opposite the station, ate the most succulent pork in a pig restaurant there and next day, caught bus #C758 from city bus terminal, near station, to Osu Shotengai shopping street (Y210 fare). Ate okinomiyaki at a tiny restaurant there..yummm. Loved walking round exploring. Nagoya, like other Japanese cities is easy to navigate and transport is cheap. Will visit again and spend more time looking around.

We stayed near Nagoya station so all sort of stores and food stalls are available. We love the transportation system as always, (Japan got the best). We like the day tours we booked to Takayama and Shirakawa-go, also Nabana Nosato.
Easy to navigate, not so crowded, quiet place and of course safe even for solo lady traveler.
The hotel is pretty new and very clean. Automated check-in/out with minimal contacts with the staffs. Staffs speaks Japanese but very helpful. Free breakfast provided has a good spread of varieties. From 2 om to midnight, they provide free coffee, self serve at your convenience. Room was bigger than hotel in Tokyo, comfortable bed and bathroom. Nagoya was snowing on one morning, it was beautiful. At Nagoya station, take the Taikoi-dori exit, turn right, cut through the construction site, cross the road and walk straight ahead.
Spacious, comfortable and well maintained room, very helpful staff, and excellent, excellent location made it a top option for anyone visiting Nagoya. Restaurants, Takashimaya Department store, Uniqlo, Tokyo Hands, Bic Camera, Nagoya station, were all just an elevator or escalator ride away from the hotel lobby on 15th floor. The surrounding area of the station are high end shopping malls with plenty of food options and were all connected by underground passage.
The hotel was a 5-10 min walk from Nagoya station, and there were a few Lawson Convenient Stores around the area. The hotel staff was okay. Toiletries such as skincare and bathrobes are placed at the lobby for you to take daily. The room was small and didn't have much space to walk once I opened my luggage but it's okay since I spent the day out most of the time. The bed was quite big for a single person in the room.
Stayed here coz we need to catch an early morning train at Nagoya Station. The hotel is just by the station, conveniently located at the entrance of Exit 4 of Esca underground shopping mall, 3-5 mins walk to station. If you have large luggage, take the escalator next to BIC Camera store which is just across the road from hotel. The escalator is not operational too early in the morning though. 😅
The Location near by Nagoya station, the room is spacious the breakfast is delicious.
Actually you can find other restaurant in front of this Hotel.
The Daiwa Hotel Nagoya was a special experience for us because they had non-Japanese receptionists, which made communication in English much easier and more fluent. They were also incredibly helpful throughout our stay.
comfortable bed, strategic location near subway station and lot of convenience stores like lawson, 7-11 etc nearby. Unlimited supply of bath amenities in reception area (near elevator) . Courteous hotel staff. Most of all, I love the public bath provided which located in last floor of hotel, its nice to dip in hot bath after a whole day of roaming around in nagoya.
Amenities provided at lobby upon check in. There area 3 units of coin washer and dryer units at the ground floor, though one of them appear to be out of service. There is a convenience store Family mart right next to the hotel. Hotel is very near Nagoya station. Room is great, clean and comfotable with facilities one would expect in a modern hotel.
The JR Hotel is conveniently located at the Nagoya Station. This seemed to be a newer hotel and very clean. There are many restaurants and shopping options available in the hotel to enjoy. The train station also has many restaurants and shopping options available. It was also very close to the attractions we planned to visit.
Location was close to the station - but on the west (not so happening side). If I went to Nagoya again, I'd look for a place East of the station. There was a wide variety of amenties on the ground floor, like bath powder, face masks, and so on - which were way more than I've seen in other hotels.
The rooms were clean and comfortable which is what I'd expect from an Ibis branded hotel. Breakfast was included in the price which was a bonus and it had a good mix of western and Japanese food.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Nagoya train station.
The hotel was close to JR Nagoya Station. They have a coin laundry services which would come very handy among travelers. They have toiletries for free like toothbrush, shaving cream and etc. Overall, a wonderful stay in this hotel.
The hotel is above the shopping and metro area at the largest station in Nagoya. great access to everything without having to drive. The staff went out of their way to contact us after we departed for some important information.
This place is close to the train station. Plus, we got a voucher for Mr. Donut, which is right below the hotel. Everything was clean, and the front desk people spoke some English. We had an amazing view of Nagoya from our room.
The location of the hotel was excellent, close to Nagoya Station and connected by subway. Great place to stay if you intend to take trains to other locations around the area.
The hotel has a good location, few minutes walk from the Nagoya Station. The room is clean (and the bathroom) is clean. I like the firmness of the bed, very comfortable.
The rooms of this hotel felt to us very much like a business hotel when we were staying here. The location is great and convenient to the Nagoya Station.
