We loved how clean the room was upon check in and the pool was absolutely beautiful. The cost to get to downtown Lisbon isn’t too bad so this hotel became a retreat for us after a long day in the city. Beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. If I come back to Portugal, I will be coming back to Upon Avila. We enjoyed our time here very much, thank you!

An extremely charming ‘local Portuguese’ town with many excellent restaurants on the Tagus river estuary across the vasco de gama bridge from Lisbon. an easy jaunt by car or by the ferry at Montijo. This is a lovely relaxing village, not a place for nightlife and excitement; for that you have to go to lisbon. The staff was very helpful and friendly, always with a smile on their face, especially the reception staff. The apartments and rooms themselves were clean and spacious and had all the necessary amenities. Also, the spa was a good addition - with a relatively large pool, a Finnish sauna and a Turkish bath. Would also recommend for families with small children.
